If it drives at highway do not need a pump.
Do you have a "check engine" light on?
Hopefully you it will show you a code to help cure the problem.
I would start with a throttle body cleaning.

If you want to access the fuel pump......remove the back seat....bottom seat.
Remove the cover on the floor.....under the seat.....there's the pump.

I have a nissan maxina 1996. When I press the gas, the car doesn't respond. Smells a lot of gas. I changed all the sensors including the Mass air flow sensor and the whole throttle body with the sensor....

Considering the age of the car it would be wise to remove the fuel injectors and have them tested and have the fuel system checked for pressure and delivery volume, pressure regulator function...

Car turning off

Hi, first thing I'd check would be the fuel filter to make sure it's not restricted, then maybe sparkplugs etc, hope this gets you going :)

96 nissan maxima when put in to gear (automatic) it dies I come to a stop sign it dies

It's possible that your Tourque Converter on your Transmission is bad.
If the car runs fine while driving and cuts off ONLY when you are idling (foot completely off the gas pedal and RPM's at idle speed) then your idle air control valve my need adjusting or need to be replaced, or idle air passage make have been blocked off by excessive carbon build-up.

If build-up is the problem, a good removal and cleaning will do the trick or an off the shelf spray cleaner may get the job done as well.Could also be clogged fuel injection system.
Try a fuel treatment with a full tank of gas.if a older model GM front wheel drive it could be the lock-up solenoid on the transmission. or it could be a stopped up catalytic converter on about any make and model.

First thing id do is check and change the fuel filter, its usually checked by blowing air through it (in the arrow direction) if no air flows through or it blows through slowly then its more than likely plugged change it and go from there. sometimes after all avenues have been followed and the problem still exists i have seen the sock on the fuel pump be plugged and do the same. it will run great while accelerating but stall at idle due to not enough fuel pressure.

Where is the throttle body on a 96 maxima... and what do I need to access. My car sometime cutt-off while idling and sometime cuts out while driving like its getting no gas. I already changed my fuel...

The throttle body is where the carburetor used to be, in the middle top of the intake manifold where the air intake tube ends.
Use a major brand "Fuel throttle body cleaner" in your gas tank every 6 months or so. Don't use store brand. Ther eis also a spray for the linkage, etc. Use that too... and spray into the throttle body with engine running. Don't let the engine die while spraying into the throttle body.

You may have a problem with the check valve in the fuel pump, if this valve is defective the gas drains back to the fuel tank and causes long crank times, you can test this by hooking up a fuel pressure guage at the fuel injector fuel supply line on the top of the engine, run the engine for a moment and quickly record the pressure when you shut down, that pressure reading should not drop more than 5 PSI overnight, if the check valve is bad the pressure will most likely start to drop right away, but do the over night test anyway. If this is the problem you will need to replace the fuel pump in the gas tank.
