I have a 95 PATHFINDER. There is no power coming to the right front turn signal. Any ideas? I would appreciate any help. THANKS. Mike

Hi, I am 3rd year apprentice 310s auto service technician. Start by checking all related fuses, the fuse box on you vehicle is to the right and below the steering wheel, on the back of the fuse cover panel is a label displaying fuse locations. Next will removing and inspecting the bulb in question; if you cant tell if the bulb is ok visualy try switching it with a known good bulb to verify. Once the bulb is eliminated use a volt meter to test the harness plug leading to the bulb with a volt meter(make sure the lights are switched on for this). At this point you can be certain whether or not power is coming to the bulb(in some case you may get a low volt reading like 2-3 volts or a fluctuating number this is indicative of wiring issues or bad connections/solder points on DTRL module). Now you can start working your way along the wire looking for breaks or other signs of malfunction. On some vehicles various resistors and other electrical components may be found in line with the lamp to eliminate these as a source of the problem simply strip a small section of wire between the BATTERY and component in question test here for power with a volt meter, do not forget to tape it back up.
If you work your way all the way back to the DTRL on Canadian vehicles you'll have to perform some additional testing here before moving on to the interior switch. For US built vehicles without a DTRL module once you've worked your way back to the switch replace the switch. Contact me if you need more detailed instruction.

How can I turn off daytime running lights?

Simple solution is to trace the wire feeding the DTRL and cut the ground. No need to even insulate it.

Connecting daylight running lights

Use a normally closed relay as in sketch. When ignition is turned on ththe DTRL's will switch on. When you switch on the head lights the rlay will open the DTRL circuit and turn them off.

1997 Cavalier: no low beams or dtrl on 1997 chevy cavalier.high b...

There's a wiring connector located below the battery box, you can see it better from under the car. Check to see if any of the wires coming out of the connector are green from corrison, if so carefully splice in new wire(s) to repair, this is caused from the drippage from the battery tray.

This is normal operation. The DTRL's turn off so on coming traffic can see your directional lights blinking. Your daytime running lights are so bright it is hard to see your turn signals during the day.

Also did you know that if you press in/out your dome override switch 3 times you can turn off your daytime running lights. After you hear a "ding" your lights should be off. Do the same to turn them back on.

At night your DTRL's are your highbeams.
