Question about 2004 Ford Expedition

Thought it was the transmission but NO!

Thought it was the transmission but it doesn't do "it" when my husband drives! a strictly mechanical problem would be consistant, no? 1) When I drive up steep hills, the engine will rev if I try to accelerate too quickly. At first I thought it was only when the air conditioning was on but, no, it does it in all conditions 2) I was at a full stop at a stop light and went to accelerate and the whole car shuddered. I let off the accelerator and tried to very gently accelerate and I got the car to move, then gradually got up-to-speed(approx 40). Same thing happened at the next light, but the problem was GONE the next morning. I travel a lot (100M in 4 yrs) and am afraid to depend on this vehicle...can any one help?

Sounds like the trans has a shioft solenoid problem, have the electronics tested by the dealer to see if any trans faults show up.

Problems to start the van

If you can not duplicate the problem on demand, it will be very difficult to troubleshoot. The mechanic has to be able to test components when it will not start. It could be an electrical problem that only happens when the van is hot.

I have a 2008 dodge calibur sxt and every time I drive long distances the transmission fluid gets too hot, a light comes on and I have to pull over until it cools off. This doesn't seem like something...

You will need the transmission temperature checked with a mechanical test gauge, you may have a defective transmission fluid temp senor or you may have a real problem with the transmission overheating due to an impending mechanical failure.

My car has a small but noticeable jerking feeling when i am driving it shifts okay but you can feel a little bit of hesitastion while driving my husband thought maybe our gas filter shoulb be changed do...

Aside from a mechanical issue, or incorrect fluid level, you may want to consider having the transmission flushed. The fluid gets tired and dirty over time and will decrease transmission performance. The fluid should be red in color. If its brownish or almost black its time to have it changed.
There are lots of things that can affect the engine and transmission. Mainly: Air Filter, Engine Oil and Oil Filter, Plugs and Plug Wires, Transmission Fluid, and the Fuel Filter. If you dont know how old these items are, or if they are the originals I recommend you replace them. Any of these alone can contribute to the issue you mentioned.

My Blazer is smoking from under the hood on the right side. It doesn't sound like the gears are shifting correctly when i drive. It only smokes after i'm on the express way. What could that be?

If your gears are not shifting correctly that you have a transmission problem and should be taken to a mechanic in your area or you will have to replace the whole transmission so do not drive the blazer and have it towed to a mechanic in your area. Do not drive the blazer any more have it towed now !!!
