Under the hood theres two bulbs in each headlight, your looking for the inner one. twist it to remove it. the bulb you need is a 9005 bulb, available at any autoparts store for 10-15 dollars.

The IPC illuminates the HIGHBEAM OUT indicator in the message center when the body control module (BCM) detects an open in one of the highbeam lamp circuits. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the BCM requesting illumination. The HIGHBEAM OUT indicator illuminates for 60 seconds when the condition is present.

it may need reset at the dealer to accomodate the new style/type of lamp..unless the cars', original factory setting does not allow for that change to be made.. they can tell you either way..

The problem is most likely your cars multi function switch. That is the switch that controls your blinkers, dimmer, and everything else. If you change the switch that should solve your problem.

Highbeam problems

I've had this happen to me. It's a bad bulb with a broken filament the makes and brakes. If when you check the bulb and it's ok than look to the plug on the rear of the bulb possibly not making contact. Good luck.

1999 nissan sentra gxe headlight problem

do you have the right light bulb? i own a 98 sentre and
it takes a 9004 bulb, but walmarts computer said to use 9007. That made the high beam censor stay on till i replaced it. if you look at the bulb you can tell if it is a dual or single beam bulb.!!!!
