What air conditioning freon is used in the 1990 oldsmobile regency

The air conditioning refrigerant/freon used in Oldsmobile regency is R11 (no longer readily available) so this can be used R134A. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

A/c

Get an R134A kit that has the tube and one can of freon. Install up to 2 or 3 cans of freon by attaching the quick connector to the low side of the a/c under the hood.

Trace the thick tubing from the a/c compressor to this fitting. It may be that it has a blue or black cap that you remove to install the freon.

I wish you luck on this.

How many grams of r134a will it take as it has no plate with the info

Usually it will take 2 or 3 cans of 134a to charge a typical American car's or light truck's a/c system.

There are about 454 grams per lb. of matter and each can is about 12 oz. (not 16 oz. = 1 lb.).

3 cans would be 3 cans x 12 oz. = 36 oz. or about 2 lbs. 4 oz.

If you round down to 2 lbs., then the grams is about 454+454 which is about 900 grams rounded down.

You could find the grams per ounce and multiply by 36.

454 /16 = 28.375

and 28.375*36=1021 grams for 3 12 oz. cans of refrigerant.

Whe you retrofitted the system to r134a ,did you subtract the amount from r12 to r134a. The system will hold less r134a than r12. It is roughly four oz less than r12.

The air conditioner blows hot air. Can I buy a kit to recharge it? If so, where and how much are they? Thank you.

It depends on the type of freonyou use. If it is R134a then yes you can buy a kit and recharge it. ost recent cars use this type o freon. check your manual. Or, when you go to any parts store jsut ask them to look it up and they can tell you what it takes.

2002 Ford Explorer Sport, diagram to add freon

there is a port and it takes r123a and it has a green port on it but if it's leaked out you mave have to have it vachumed out, if you charge it be sure to get R134a with oil so that you don't burn up the pump, when the thing leaks it loses oil.

What type of freon is in a 1994 GMC Suburban

There should be a lable underhood.but probably had R-12,Best to go ahead and convert to R134A.Recommend replace reciever drier ,buy conversion fittings from parts house for 134A,remove compressor turn upside down and rotate clutch by hand to get as much oil out as you can, then pour in aprox 4 oz pag oil.Reinstall, change orfice tube the will need aprox 12 oz R134A to replace 16oz R-12.Buy R134A at walmart cheaper than all parts houses by at least $2.00 a can.Cgarge till low side preasure at aprox 40 to 45 psi and gigh side 200 to 250 psi.Should cool fine.

No AC refrigerant in 1995 E250

The compressor has a valve, it lets out the old freon and this is where you charge with new freon. The truck should have a label under the hood possibly on top of grille. It will tell you what freon to use. You don't want to the wrong one. There are 2 types of freon. There is the older R22 that is for 94 and older vehicles, and R134A which is for the newer vehicles. You will have to look on your label, or as part store which kind. I believe it will be R134A
