Doesnt work on all speeds? ck the big purple wire at the blower motor, on high speed, it should have battery voltage, if it does, then check the black wire, it should have "0" volts (or ground it, see if it then works). If the purple wire does not have power then fuse #30 (30 amp) may be bad.If the black wire has more than "0" volts then the ground may be bad or the "blower motor control processor" =( resistor) is bad, or the ground for it is bad. the ground wire ends up at the cross beam behind radio. If you ground the black wire at the resistor, and it works, then you have a bad ground at the wire, behind the radio. Good Luck.

Where is the fuses of the Air Blower and Cigarette Lighter situated

Under the dash, inside the glove box, and check under the hood for the fuse box. On the underside of the fuse box will be labeled what each fuse is for. Blower motor, cigarette lighter.

01 grand.prix ac fan switch only works on high. has a duel temp controller when you turn fan off the only way fan comes back on is to move the temp controller levers

Hi!!
When the Blower Motor Resistor (controls blower speeds) goes bad, the blower motor works only on HIGH SPEED. REPLACE IT.
BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR Removal & Installation
  • Disconnect negative battery cable.
  • Remove right lower instrument panel insulator panel.
  • Disconnect blower resistor connector located behind right side of dash.
  • Remove blower resistor screws and blower resistor.
To install, reverse removal procedure
Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa!!

My 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee heater only blows air on the high setting, I ohm tested the HVAC fuse under the hood and only get response on 1 leg.

when the blower motor resistor fails the blower switch defaults to the high position. autozone.com has a great tutorial on how to replace the blower motor resistor.

realfixesrealfast.com has a segment on blower motor resistors.

Heater fan not working. 40amp fuse under hood ok. wires to fan test hot. motor turns strong when hooked directly to battery

"...wires to fan test hot." But what is the voltage? Since the Fuse and Motor is good, and there is voltage (unk strength) to the Motor; this only leaves the Blower Motor Resistor. Does the Fan work on High Only? Then it is definitely the Blower (Fan) Motor Resistor.

2005 Pontiac Gran Prix blower does not work. I check the fuse at HVAC fuse at the end of the dashboard and it is OK. The switch itself activates the AC light on and off when I turn it...

Check the blower motor which is behind the right side of the dash, in the lower right side of the HVAC Assembly, above foot area of the passenger floor. The other thing to test is the blower motor resistor which should be next to the blower motor.

There is a heater resistor module, it is located on the passenger side under the dash by the blower motor. It is a bit tricky to get to but isnt to hard to replace. I just dealt with this issue in May. The unit cost me about 86 dollars from the dealer. But be careful becuase normally the resistor goes due to a short in another component in the syste, so this may not be the complete fix for you. My main culprit ended up being the blower motor.

Good Luck
