I am a 25 year Ford dealer technician, if the fuel pump has not been replaced then i believe it to be the problem, I am not sure if the dealer confirmed the loss of fuel pressure, most likely not, electric fuel pumps stick, on a warm day the car may start fine, cooler temps and no start with good crank, another factor that affects fuel pump life is running the gas tank level below 1/4 tank, this overheats the fuel pump which is cooled by the gas it sits in.

the fuel would not cause a problem, 10% is approved by ford

I am still sure it is the fuel pump, have replaced 100's for this same problem over the years.

Sorry about these.

1. I will say you go for a diagnostic scan.

2. The fuel pump might be pumping but below rating.

3. It is most likely it is a starter problem too.

Check all these and get back to me @ onifadeadewunmi@hotmail.com

Good luck and rate this solution.

What if the car is stuck in limp mode and it loses power?

if it won`t start call a tow truck to take it to a shop. if you don`t want to spend the money for a tow you won`t want to spend the money to repair the car anyways.

Turn signal on 97 buick century works only at times ,if i jiggle lever slowly it may work othrtwise it clicks fast. only problem on rt. passenger sidr.

Why can't a repair shop not find the problem?

How many shops & dealers have tried?

Does that seem right to you, that the problem
can not be found !

You say it does work sometimes
You play with the indicator level it tries to work
Blinks sort of fast

All those are very positive keys & helpful, to start
diagnosing the issue

I won't guess at it, but surely with a wiring diagram it
should not take more than an hour or two to solve

Why wasn't the directional switch tested or considered
for replacement, if all the lamps, sockets & grounds were good

It does work, but not as it should
eg: it is trying--- so how hard would it be to find out why!

My 2008 Saturn Vue has been 'stuttering' during acceleration and sometimes while just sitting still. Spark plugs have been changed and transmission fluid added but neither one helped. Sometimes it happens...

Leave the vehicle at the a repair shop with
a though understanding of why your there,
& what you want resolved
I see a thousand questions a week here, where
people either can't find a shop that knows why they
are there, can't fix much, never road test to confirm a repair,
or the owner takes the vehicle & then complains on a web site
You want it fixed, everything, spend time at the shop,go there
during repairs, ask questions, take notes & go for a 25 mile ride,
before you pay & come home with the car.

Car will drive reverse, when you stop to put in drive will not go into gear. it will drive foward as soon as you start but not for long

get a local phone book. look in the yellow pages under auto repair, transmissions. call every shop and have them give you a ball park cost to remove your transmission and replace it with a rebuilt one. then make the call as to whether it is cost effective to spend that much on a 500 dollar car or just go find another car for 500 bucks.and drive it into the ground. you can most likely part it out on craigslist and get at least 300 for the engine.then sell the carcass for scrap metal

Will not start

Largest problem I've seen at dealerships is that the techs are rushed and can't spend necessary time tracking down relatively simple problems. I've always failed to understand how that can possibly translate to customer satisfaction.....Likely if you check all main power circuits with a meter, it shouldn't take too long to identify where the power is dropping off.

Intermitent electrical shut off

Asked a local independent Toyota/Lexus repair shop.

He suggested checking battery cables at both ends to assure tight fit.

Positive cable was ever so slightly loose.

Tightened all cables. Will see if that solves problem.

High RPM After Crank Shaft Sensor Replaced

Dear Mike: Nissan has a Technical service bulletin out on problems with high idle.
Reference # NTB05-067 This procedure unfortunately, is one which will take a skilled professional with the proper equipment.
The Nissan Dealer has a diagnostic tool called a "CONSULT-11"
and shops like mine that spend the money on the equipment and software AND TRAINING>>>> can more efficiently address the problem. Even if the shop has a higher labor rate, it may be less expensive to solve the problem if they know what they are doing.
I often get calls from people wanting to know how much my shop charges per hour for diagnostics? I try to get across to them that the hourly rate doesn't always guarantee that they will get a less expensive repair. Then I give them an example: The shop ABC Auto repair down the street charges $10.00 an hour for diagnostics and Shop XYZ charges $100. for diagnostics. Shop ABC has kids who have difficulty figuring out where the hood latch is let alone how to solve the problem. It takes them 10 hours to eventually solve the problem which relates to $100.00. Shop XYZ assigns the car to a seasoned tech who knows the product and has the problem solved in 1/2 hour. Ever though shop XYZ is 10 times more expensive on their diagnostic rate, they were 50% cheaper on their repair! (SORRY TO WANDER OFF THE PATH )
In any case, this is one situation that I feel is best left to a seasoned pro who will take the time to check the technical service bulletins which the shop you had it at should have researched from the start. Had they done that, they could have told you that there were quite a few TSB's out on your car pertaining to performance and safety issues including voluntary recalls. We always check TSB's and if there is a recall & we advise the customer of it. I could take advantage of the customer and make the money on the repair, but would rather gain the trust, confidence and loyalty of that customer. Not to mention the word of mouth it brings!
I hope I have helped you some. If not, let me know a little more detail on the symptoms: Does it surge, while driving does it do it under all conditions or only at operating temp? You get the picture.
