I have a Landrover Discovery 2 with 140 000 KMs on it. The red light indicating the oil is too hot keeps coming on. I got the oil changed, and it still comes on. Goes on, off, at various times. Now the check engine light is on too. The oil level seems to be retaining. Any idea what this could be? I am trying to diagnose before taking it in to Land Rover.

if you don`t hear any engine noise then its more than likely the oil pressure switch is acting up. this is likely a coincidence that it happened after the oil change. have the oil pressure switch replaced.
Don't run premium fuel (lights harder) Light weight oil like 5- 20 synthetic helps some, however,an engine heater would be best, simple to install, keeps everything warm, heater gets hot in seconds, engine life is prolonged.
You do not say if the oil level is ok, or if there are any related problems. Assuming the oil level is OK, it is a very simple system, There is a pressure switch near the oil filter, check the wire from this is not chafing/rubbing on the engine anywhere. If it appears OK, wait until the light is on, take off the connector carefully and check the light has gone off. If the light goes off the pressure switch is faulty. If it stays on you have a short circuit somewhere between the switch and the warning light.
This is the pressure light, nothing to do with the oil needing to be being changed, you have low oil pressure being indicated, this will destroy the engine if the light is really indicating low oil pressure, have the oil pressure tested with a mechanical test guage at a shop, if the oil pressure is ok then replace the oil pressure light sending unit.
the red light indicates low oil pressure, check your oil and add as
necessary, if it still comes on you have some type of restriction in an
oil passage somewhere. the reason it only comes on when turning is
because when turning the fluid level shifts in the oil pan and if it is
low it is moving past the pick-up tubeand you only pumping air
