I looked this up in the labor guide, it is actually less than a 2 hour job, do it yourself it is very easy.

What is the average labor time to do the head gaskets, water pump, and timing belt set on a 2003 Sarurn Vue v6?

I have to say head gaskets on a 3.0L VUE is very uncommon. Perhaps you could have the shop who is working on it explain it better and you could follow up because I have seen exactly 1 VUE 3.0L head gasket leak.

Labor to do the water pump and timing belt should be around 4 hours. Maybe a little more if the water pump leaked and made a mess they need to clean up.

If my water pump needs to be replaced will there be other changes I may need to do?

in most cars the water pump is outside the engine and is driven by the serpentine belt (that also drive the generator and air conditoner) ... so its a good idea to change that belt since it involves no increase in labor (they may charge for it but it takes no more effort to install a new belt then the old) ... also inspection of the belt tensioner and idler pully is a more than a good idea .. they may have frozen pivots or bad bearings that will cause later failures ...if they are in good shape then no need to change them unless they are available at a reasonable cost .. most off the shelf antifreeze contains silicates and thats responsible for most water pump failures .. silicate free antifreeze is available but at a higher cost .. thats money well spent... some cars have the water pump driven by the timing belt inside the timing belt housing .. now that can involve much more labor .. its prudent to change the timing belt and any warn idler or tensioner pullies while you are at it ... timing belt driven water pump repairs are expensive but those extra parts wont add a lot to the bill but will increase long term reliability greatly ... on a few cars the whole front end must be removed in order to change the water pump or even thermostat .. thats additonal labor ... hope you dont have one of those ..

My 2004 TrailBlazer overheats in running only I changed acdelco water pump , thermostat and coolant water and still overheat

check your fan clutch, very typical problem on these 4.2L engines. These fan clutches are electronically controlled. Another issue may be clogged radiator.

Water pump leak

It's a very involved teardown of the front of the motor. It takes quite a bit of time and if you need to do this, you're best off doing the timing belt and tensioner, thermostat, coolant flush, and all accessory belts while you're at it, to avoid duplicating the labor charges down the line.

2004 trailblazer leaking water pump, live in NY and its cold now isthis something i should fix right away or i can wait until spring

I speak from experience: changing the water pump on a Trailblazer yourself is very involved---much of the front fascia of the vehicle will have to be removed as there is almost no clearance. In cold climes, I would DEFINITELY have a leaking water pump repaired right away.

I need to replace the thermostat on my 2003 Trailblazer

Most if not all repair manuals for vehicles these days covers replacing the thermostat. Your best solution is to puchase one of these manuals for your vehicle from the local automotive supply store (autozone, petboys.. )

Now while i don't know your particular vehicle, i can make the safe assumption that you will need to remove the pump (or housing on the pump) to swap out the thermostat. Mostly this involves removing the housing bolts, and simlpy removing the outlet block, and replace the thermostat / gasket (if required) and replace everything.. .

again, this is not a howto guide, just from recollection. Your best, and safest bet is to get the manual, and follow it. They are usually pretty easy to replace inless you have one of those foriegn jobbies..

Where is thermostat on 2001 chevy venture van with v6 engine

under the intake plenum, which will have to be removed before you can access the thermostat.
I suggest having it done by a garage mechanic.
