At your brake pedal is a brake light switch that could be stuck or just bad. make sure the brake pedal is tightly bolted to the fire wall and the switch is being depressed all the way. mine was just stuck and fixed with extra lubrication.

R/L brake lights inop

If you replaced the brake switch at the foot pedal and it still doesn't work... both lights. Then you have a broken ground wire... both lamps feed from the same ground. If only one was working then you could suspect a live wire to just that lamp.

Tail lights inoperatrive

Could be one of three things;
1. Check the fuses in the fuse box.
2. If all fuses are OK, check the headlight switch.
3. If this car has 'delay turn off lights' feature, the lighting control module should be checked.

Brake lights inop

If your bulbs and fuses are good, then look above your brake pedal and you will see your brake switch up along your brake pedal arm. It will either be between the brake arm and the firewall so when you brake it pushes the switch in. Or it will be between the dash and the brake arm so when you brake it pulls the switch out. This switch will need to be replaced.

Why does my crise control not wotk

it can be a number of things, first i would make sure your brake lights work,on some vehicles if your brake lights are inop the cruise is inop, check the bulbs, fuses,brake lightswitch,if all are good, it could be the cruise control module, that could get technical.

Your brake light circuit runs thru your turnsignal switch if your hazard switch is on your column I have seen numerous inop brake lights caused by faulty turn signal switches.

The brake sensor switch is located on the brake pedal. If fuses and bulbs are ok it should be the switch.
