Use a small tubing cutter and remove the bad section of line. Replace with similar diameter steel line and use ferrule type brass unions on both ends.
Make sure that the area that you connect to is straight and relatively clean and rust free..

How do i fix a fuel leak under front door of a 1998 gmc jimmy?

Depends on what's leaking. The fuel line runs down that side of the truck to a fuel filter near the front. If the filter or a filter connector has failed or is loose, try replacing the filter. If the problem is a leaking line, you will have to find the exact location of the leak and try either installing a repair kit (cut the line and insert coupler), or if badly damaged, replace the line.

My 2002 nissan frontier crewcab has been running good then sputtered out then dyed code read 455 evap mass leak took off bed found a gas leak fixed leak it ran great for 20 or so min. now wont start

Is it harder than normal to remove the gas cap? If so , it's bad cap. When driving it will create a vacuum pressure in your tank and if that pressure cant be purged then it will not let the fuel move. Now if you remove the gas cap and then put it back on and the car does start replace the gas cap

My 98 cavalier smells of gas and leaks gas from the back of the car by back tires and gas tank get empty pretty fast

You need to get the car up on a hoist to inspect the underside and find the cause of the leak. Without a thorough inspection you cannot determine the cause. Most likely you have a fuel line that has corroded and this will leak fuel rapidly when the car is running and the fuel is being pumped under pressure.

It is not legal in many places to run your car with highly flammable fuel leaking as much as it is so you need to get it checked immediately before you get put off the road or you have a fire.

Gas smell but not any leaks

Depending on the Year of Expedition there was a recall for Gas tank straps. Those units having shields for the Off-road package kept the gas tanks from falling off the vehicle. For units without the shields, the tank could hang from the remaining strap which would put all the pressure on the remaining strap.
The repair for the strap is free under Warranty.
There are other parts which may fail. The main line to the fuel pump can rust. Any metal component up to the fuel injectors can likewise fail.
There is also a system for the Emissions and the vapors can leak if the hoses have pin holes. A device called a "smoke test machine" is needed to detect these leaks. This is a possibility since you see no fuel puddles under your vehicle.
A tiny fuel leak can seep and evaporate while the vehicle is in motion.
I would call in the vehicle VIN# and see if your particular unit has been recalled for the straps. An inspection under the vehicle would be useful. After that, do a "smoke test".

Car Fuel Smell

You rubbed through the fuel tank or cracked it and it has a small leak. They make a fuel tank repair kit you can by a a auto parts store some times they work and sometimes they don't. If gas is spraying or leaking on the exhaust you could have a fire. I have drained a tank and put a screw with a fiber washer in the hole and then covered it with a 1/2 inch if silicone rubber it lasted for 5 years. Your fuel lines and filter are usually up on the side of the frame and should be ok

I got gas leak coming from the fuel line right above my fuel pump but nothing is broken, craked or loose and the pump is in perfect condition.. could a clogged fuel filter be the problem? its comin from...

First off, what kind of vehicle do you have? I assume it is one that has an electric fuel pump in the gas tank, so that is what my answer will be geared to.
On the gas tank there are several lines. The most important ones for this conversation are the ones that deliver fuel to the engine and the one that returns the excess fuel back to the tank. They are usually different in size.
The larger one delivers the fuel and the smaller one returns the excess fuel back to the tank. Either one may be the culprit in this scenero. The tank is usually connected by a high pressure flexible fuel line to a stainless fuel line resembeling a brake line. At times this flex line may develope a leak for varrious reasons. It could be something rubbing against the line, it could be the crimped connection went bad and is leaking, etc. If it is your flex line, which it probably is there is a repair kit you can purchase to fix it. I have only been able to find this repair kit at NAPA. I've tried many auto parts stores and they are the only ones that carry it. The use of it is very simple actually. You find the leak in your line, which by the way is harder than it sounds and usually involves removing the gas tank. In which case you will need a special tool to disasemble the gas line from the tank. Once the leak is located you cut the line. You then have to place the remaining flex hose in boiling hot water for at least 10 seconds, which makes it soft and insert a splice fiting into it. When the line cools, it will shrink tight on the connector. You the do the same with the hose that came with the repair kit. Then do the same with the other end and install the fitting which connects to the gas tank. You should now be in business.
BTW. I have to do this very thing tomorrow.
Good Luck! and let me know if this helps you.
