I put new bearing assemblies in rear 2006 Ford Freestar and now ABS/Traction control lights stay on. How do I reset??

There is no reset for this problem. When the ABS system is in working order the system runs a self-test upon initial key on and if all is well the abs light goes out. You need to have diagnostics ran on the abs sytem. If the problem wasn't there before the repair , suspect a problem caused by the repair. Did the new assemblies have the abs option? Did the abs sensors have to be removed or get damaged during repair?

hope this helps

The ABS system engages when it shouldn't and fails to shut off after the car is stopped. How many sensors are there on a 2000 Grand Marquis? How much do they cost to replace? Is the ABS light the...

TRAC is an option on ford products your better off without,
as it slams on the rear brakes & cuts out injectors, in the winter,
if the rear wheels slip. Really a bad invention. When you need
full control in snow,it is taken away.

The ABS is the electrical part of your braking system

As with any vehicle problem or check light, you get on your
dash, you should not be using the vehicle

You have the car checked for codes in a couple of days,
then diagnosed & repaired within a week

The abs & trac could be a bad wheel speed sensor,
you have 4 as well as other items in that system.

This is a social web site or forum,we answer questions from
home, as you can,so price questions would be addressed
at a repair shop. You never need a dealer for any vehicle
issues,ever,too expensive to go there

The brake pads and shoes are not elec., your abs light is on because your abs computer pick up a bad signal from one of your abs sensor's,, take it to any auto parts or some one like autozone where they can do a code reading and get back us with the code so we can help you diag. your trouble code.

1998 Ford F150 4x4 Rear wheel ABS. Fixd problem.

Usually if the problem is indeed gone it will clear itself. But if yours won't you probably either need to reset it yourself with a automotive computer code reader better known as a OBD2 reader (about $100) or take it to a auto shop for them to reset.

After replacing rear drums the ABS light is on

you probably bumped the sensor and now it isn't close enough to the gear looking thingy to read it. just set the abs sensor a little closer so the light goes off but the sensor ins't touching the gear thingy. I have had the same problem. I bet your abs isn't working right now. see if you your brakes lock up when you slam on them.
