Look at the axle shaft. If one is loose it will do what you are describing

My Dodge Grand Caravan is making a humming noise as you accelerate, while turning left it stops but gets worse while turning right. I replaced the left front wheel hub and no improvement, I need help

if hub bearing replacement did not fix the noise

when noises are on left and right turns
that has CV joints /drive shafts
would say they are the issue
replace both sides

and replace the left hand hub bearing at the same time

it sounds to me like it is your left front wheel bearing. the best way to check this is to raise both wheels and spin them by hand there will be some noise from the pads rubbing the discs but the side with the bearing gone will be noisiest.you can replace just the bearing.I hope you find this helpful

Front diff leaking driverside right at cv joint makes a humming noise.diff bearing or seal or possible wheel bearing ?

Sounds like a hub bearing a nd a leaking axle seal to me. The two parts are seperate and have nothing to do with the other so it was just a coincidence that you noticed the leak after you heard the hub bearing. Replace the axle seal to stop the leak and then replace the hub bearing assembly to fix the humm because you have to dissassemble all of that to fix the axle leak anyway.

My ford focus has started humming in front end

this sounds like a hub bearing, to determine which one it is when your driving and you here the noise turn the steering wheel slightly left and then slightly right, the noise should get louder or lighter. If louder on right turn then it would be left bearing is bad because your putting more weight on the left side

My 1991 cavalier is a 2.2ltr 4 cyl. 3spd auto, front wheel drive. when I drive it I hear from the right (passenger side) front tire a deep loping whirring sound....I am leaning towards the bearing or...

Deep growling sound could well be a bad wheel bearing. A bad cv joint will generally make a click or clacking sound, usually while only turning. While driving, you can often change the pitch of a bad wheel bearing with a slight turn of the steering wheel (note - slightly, no crazy zig-zag). What you're doing is shifting the weight on/off of this bearing and the pitch will change if it's bad. Only way to verify is to remove it and feel it in hand. It's a sealed hub/bearing assembly and only replaceable, not serviceable.

2001 chev impala ls makes whirring type noise when going down the street. Sounds like its coming from the drive or tranny. Stops when I veer right.

This sounds like the hub bearing. If it stops when you turn right then it is the right side front. When you veer right this takes the weight off the right side and the noise goes away.If the noise comes back and stays there when you veer left then the weight of the vehicle is on the right side.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Makes winding in the front end when driving straight or turning right

Hi it needs a hub bearing sounds like the left one
jack up the left side so the left wheel is off the ground and start the vehicle and spin the wheel up to about 30 mph and you should hear the same noise and if not jack up the right side and do the same
hope this helps you
