Just remove the wheel and count the teeth on the ring on the rear brake thats all you need to do. Since you can't drive it take it off and take it in to compare parts so you don't have to go back twice. You will need a new wheel seal and race and bearings.

Hi Buddy, Suggest:- If mine - I'd check LF wheel bearing by jacking that corner up and then, using both hands, try to move the wheel - firstly by placing your hands at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock followed by 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock. = any movement other than very minor = means the wheel bearing for that wheel needs to be replaced. A job that should NOT be delayed !!! (you surely don't want to see that wheel passing your inside on the motorway eh? .-.-.-.*--"-IDEA="--* ~ Check the other ~ 3 ~ WhEeLs ...[OOO] ... at the same TiMe !!! ... Kind Regards ~ D

I have a 95 honda civic 2dr coup. when ever the car is in motion i hear squeeking/ grinding from the rear breaks. I don't know what could keep causing this. I just replaced the rear break pads, drum...

you may need a hub bearing. do you know which side? they're relatively easy to check; just jack up rear of car, release e-brake and rotate each wheel, listening for any noise or rumble; another way is to place your hand on the coil spring while spinning the wheel, as any rumbling that can't be heard will be felt in the spring. hope this helps.

Yes it is the rear bearing. It can be a home fix but you will need good tools and some spare time. Log on to the Hyundai Coupe Owners Club in the UK for guidance.

Hyundai coupe se 2ltr 2001 front wheel bearing ceased to brake disk

hiya this does sound iffy ? but b4 i comment /offer an opinion could you or your friend jack up the wheel in question that has had repair and look at how the brake disc is secured to the actual hub assy that wheel bearing is housed in ? also caliper? cracked?? is it now a new one? have never had problem renewing front or rear bearings in past using the correct tool/s a hydraulic press is the best method for removing excessive siezed components as for your friend now saying noise is from rear ? it may be pads worne or disc/s corrosion/scoured so investigate and update what you discover ? sounds like big hammer garage?
