Question about 2003 Buick Regal

Transmission shudders. Now it wont accelerate

I have had the same problem (the slipping) since around 60k miles. My mechanic said to drive it till it drops. Now Im up to 120k miles and I think the transmission finally quit on me.
Driving in stop n go traffic this AM I noticed a lack of acceleration from stops. It got worse and worse to the point that I could barely pull into my parking spot from a stop.
Im headed out to check fluid levels but I think my tranny finally died on me.
Fantastic car up to this point... not sure if I will pay 3k to fix or scrap and start all over.

Always consider doing a fluid change and filter change - your description of your problem can often be solved with that. (Of course, low fluid can also cause a problem.)

2010 Jeep Wrangler unlimited sport extreme shudder at 40 mph- if I press the gas-pedal and get the RPMs to rev, the shudder ceases, only to return once I am back down around 38 mph-41mph.

which engine the 3.6? v6?
that shudder is called MISFIRE.
get a tune up yet, even $1.49 spark plugs?
no its not the trans,
if it dont slip, its not trans, (see RPM races? that is slip or too low gear)
if it shifting to the right gears, its not the trans can you count them?
is the CEL lamp glowing or flashing driving, is yes, that means
scan me now. in fact scanning while it shudders, is like (magic)
why start guessing, do a tuneup,
then scan it.
if its is misfire the PCM will tell you what cylinder misfires.

are your spark plugs 6 years old, if yes, why?
going for 200k miles on them.?

Suzuki SX4 shudders on acceleration. Why?

well that depends on WHAT shudders.
the engine or the transmission or the drive shafts or tire, or or or
like Real Estate, location is every thing, with noise or vib.

if the engine shakes.?
find a mech as him to diagnosis it.

trans missions can slip or shudder
the engine can bog, misfire, shack or do lots of odd things,
find some that can tell the difference.

Problem with my 2002 GMC Envoy

Sorry to say but your mechanic is probally right because 204000 miles is alot of miles for a transmission and when the clutches start to slip thats what it sounds like.

What is the millage that requires changing of timing belt?

Factory (most) recommends every 60k miles (i.e. 60k, 120k, 180k...). But as we all know, lifespan of belts (and all other parts) varies, depending on the driving conditions, weather, maintenance etc. Best thing to do is to do a visual check, and look for signs of slack, cracks etc. I used to drive a civic and never changed my timing belt till around 130k miles, and that's after it was submerged in a flashflood. Although I'd never recommend doing what I did, but if you're a little mechanically sound - periodically checking your belt is what I'd recommend. It doesn't mean that ritually replacing timing belts every 60k miles'll guarantee it'll never break ;-)<!-- from fixya rte -->

Automatic shudders on some gear changes.

This car has both options of auto transmission plus manual gear **** so the only reason it can shudder when the clutch is not fully released and thus takes some time, that's when it shudders, but on accelerating this will not happen cos the centripetal clutch has enough torque such that the clutch is pressed hard to the cam & therefore no shuddering. On cruising speed the probability of clutch slipping making the car shudder. Thus changing the clutch assembly ought eliminate this problem....sodeep

Clunky Vibration or Shutter

I'd shudder too at 260,000 miles. . By shudder, do you mean vibration?. U-joints usually show up at around 45 mph. So try to narrow it down.

2001 Towncar Shudders while accelerating

Yes, it's a torque convertor shudder. Flush your transmission fluid and add an additive to help shudder (shudder fix, etc). That fixes most of the vehicle, the others will need a convertor. Try to keep transmission serviced around every 30k will help this concern.
