Question about 1999 BMW 318 ti

Open Question

316i E46 2000 M43B19 105 hp, DME Error codes 141, 171

I have 2 error codes:

- 141 - related to lambda sensor control range block (or something similar)
- 171 - is in german but the translation is something like "fuel supply short circuit"

Is it possible that the lambda sensor is generating both errors or something related to the fuel supply is generating both errors and the lambda sensor to be ok?

I understand there are 2 lambda sensors (one before the catalytic converter and one after). How do I know which one is the faulty one?

I must mention that the check engine light is on and sometimes (but only sometimes) the idle is fluctuating (600-900 RPM) and the engine seems to run in 3 cylinders (missfires?).

Code is "Oxygen sensor input voltage maintained above normal operating range"

Very likely it's the Lambda sensor on the eshaust playing up. Check connections and get it tested.

Can give up with faulty fuel from some pumps.

I have 99 bmw 323i.i ran it hot and got prob fixed and now the eml and a triangle with circle around it comes on dash and car has no power.feels like it has a rev limiter.wats wrong with my car


have throttle body checked also the MDK throttle motor,
make sure that the dealer has followed service bulletin 12 07 99 for procedure to replace the MDK throttle motor
also have them check for codes,here are some codes,
it could be an expensive job,have them check everything,it is most likely the throttle motor,,throttle body is 600 if they switch it,dont let them do it without checking throttle motor,

Hi engine cose error from eobd reader says code p2610 how do i solve this please or what is the problem manythanks


Hi there!

The definiton of your fault code P2610 is ECM/PCM Internal Engine Off Timer Performance

The only info I have relates to this being an engine management ECU (DME) problem. The info doesnt go into specifics but says that the car requires a software update, then further diagnosis if this is unsuccessful. Worst case would be DME failure.
