Question about 1999 BMW 318 ti

Open Question

316i E46 2000 M43B19 105 hp, DME Error codes 141, 171

I have 2 error codes:

- 141 - related to lambda sensor control range block (or something similar)
- 171 - is in german but the translation is something like "fuel supply short circuit"

Is it possible that the lambda sensor is generating both errors or something related to the fuel supply is generating both errors and the lambda sensor to be ok?

I understand there are 2 lambda sensors (one before the catalytic converter and one after). How do I know which one is the faulty one?

I must mention that the check engine light is on and sometimes (but only sometimes) the idle is fluctuating (600-900 RPM) and the engine seems to run in 3 cylinders (missfires?).

Thanks

have throttle body checked also the MDK throttle motor,
make sure that the dealer has followed service bulletin 12 07 99 for procedure to replace the MDK throttle motor
also have them check for codes, here are some codes,
it could be an expensive job, have them check everything,it is most likely the throttle motor,,throttle body is 600 if they switch it,dont let them do it without checking throttle motor,
codes,

How to fix error codes p0171 and p0232

Code 171 is for the fuel mixture on bank one is too lean, and code 232 is for a problem with the fuel pump circuit.
Code 232 could cause code 171 or 171 could be something going on with one of the O2 sensors.
You would need to take a scanner and watch the activity on the O2 sensors, and check base fuel pressure with a gauge.

Code 29A8 i
t's a NETWORK management fault, related with tne main computer. Will need to visit BMW dealer to delete or reset it.

I hope helps with this.

2006 bmw 750Li with error code drive moderately abs braking system error. took it to bmw they said it was a sensor, I paid $500 same error code after that five times finally they told me it was a module...

BMW in the service is used for diagnosis of GT-1 and one can write what's wrong, what the wheel is, you can even raised hands and wheel rotate. GT-1 to look at a signal about how to spin. Signal from the ABS sensor. When the sensor signal is wrong. If you are not sure that the diagnosis should be done and they would know what's wrong now. The one who made the diagnosis was a mistake to try to GT-1/ service function / pr?fplan / ABS sensoren control when move it. Translate a word or sentence with Google Translate to one of these languages: Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, Frensh, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

It sounds like the convertor in the exhaust system is partly blocked. You will need to have this checked at a shop. Frankster016
