There is no difference in intakes on how they bolt on, both intakes bolt on the same, just make sure you use new gasgets, and also use red silacone on each end insted of the rubber gasgets they supply with the gasget kit so you get a better seal.

Throttle body butterflies not closing correctly. Check that throttle shaft moves freely, check that the accelerator cable moves freely, check the throttle return spring tension, check carb base and intake manifold for vacuum leaks.

I am changing a1994 silverado 350 5.7 throttlebody with a 650 edelbrock 4-barrell carb.already atop another intake that fits, weill i have problems because of the left over throttle body wires

Its going to be a major job. The in-tank pump produces 10-15 psi which is twice the amount a carb can handle. The float in the carb will not cut that much pressure off.
And the engine computer must have the TPS sensor to function.

What is involved in a carburetor switch from a 2 barrel to a 4 barrel?

You need to buy a new intake manifold and buy the propper 4 barrel carbruetor.
Try to save yourself some money by buying a carb and intake performance kit from Edelbrock or other local parts stores...

I hope this helps...

Replace the carb with a new one is the simplest solution. Having the carb rebuilt may save some money but is not as simple.

Ive rebuilt a holly 4 barrel carb and the floats have been adjusted right and its leaking between the intake manifold and the bottom of were the carb connects to the intake.what is the cause of that?

You have to have a carb base plate gasket. Mr gasket makes a decent product that i currently use on my 84 F150. remove your carb and inspect the base of it, remove any debris that may be causing it to not seal properly. good luck

Hard starting after warm up

You need to do a partial rebuild of the carb. Pull it off and put at least the needle and seat in it and also I strongly suggest a float.

I have ran into this frequently.1984 ford,if it is a california vehicle, had a feedback carb.(electronic feedback control) with a computer. and they had 49 state vehicles. The 49 state vehicle is not electronic feedback. if the intake has been changed, it's going to be hard finding the right carb for it. a 2bbl won't fit a 4bbl manifold. Holly carb makes a replacement carb to fit many vehicles. check with your local auto parts person. they should be able to help you, or find one in the wrecking yard with everything to swap it out.

To change to a 4 bbl u wil need to change the intake manifold, as for the heads only if u are going to preformance. Changing diffeent 2 bbls will not be of any advantage to you.
