First check you have the main ingredients,
Power, Spark, Fuel, as if you have these it should start, Second, make sure you have replaced the dis cap on the right way and the leads, then take number one plug out and push it back into the lead and then rest it on the side of the engine, but dont hold it there, just rest it there, and then turn the key and check you have a nice blue spark, if not checkk the lead is secure between the distributor and the coil, i will try to help you further if i can, just email me on butcher960@btinternet.com Colin.

How do you tell if it needs charged or not?

Hi Kelly, A fully charged battery is 12.4 to 12.6. and when the motors running it's 14.3 to 14.6... Three reasons your battery is flat (isn't charging), You have a faulty battery, A power drain or you have a faulty alternator... Clean your battery terminals and If you don't have a multimeter then Try jump starting your flat battery and driving your car for at least ten minutes then turned the motor off and try starting it WITHOUT jump start, If the battery's still flat then it's the battery, If your car starts straight away but won't start the next day then you have a power drain... If you jump start your flat battery and go for a ten minute drive but during that drive the motor dies without turning off the key then it's the alternator....
A mechanic or an auto electrician can usually test Free of charge if you can get it there....CHEERS..

1998 Ford Windstar 3.8L Won't start most of the time.

Its ether your starter solenoid or a bad cable or connection between battery and starter. Since you replaced the solenoid I would replace the cable and the crimped connectors. Clean both the battery and starter connections when replacing.

cheapest thing to start with is to buy a new battery. they arent built to last. if that doesnt help then its your alternator. sounds like its gonna be the alternator though. you can test it with a test light though or some alternator repair shops will look at it for free. it will only take them a minute to do if you feel like taking the alternator in

My z3 starting problem

i would say its a dead (flat) battery. if its more than 4 or 5 years old, it might be time to replace it.

try jumping it with another vehicle. if it jump starts, then replace the battery.

if its a newer battery (less than 4 years old), then something is draining the battery or the alternator is not recharging it.
