Question about 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
I'm trying to figure out what exactly is causing my transmissions problems on my 2001 chevy silverado. My Transmission will only shift when i take the truck up to 25 mph at a high rpm...
Is your tow/haul button pushed? is the tow/haul light burned out? i would ask myself these questions

I had the same problem on my 2000 Chev Silverado Z71 and I had two different transmissions shops look at it. One quote was $1600 to rebuild and the other was trial and error minimum $500.00
I found a forum and a poster told me to check the wiring at the transmission stating that I could have a bare wire and short. I crawled under the truck and sure enough the wires had been rubbing against the driveshaft exposing the wire and shorting out. I cleaned the wire up, taped it up put a rubber sleeve over the area and problem solved. 10 mins and $0.30 did the trick.
