My turbo gto manual crunchs in ta 3rd its a 91 modle can eny wun help its only jus startd doing it ive just jus put a new master an slave cylinder in would it hav eny think 2 do with that

If it only has problems going into 1 gear, it's most likely the synchro for that gear inside the transmission. but if this appeared out of thin air immediately after the hydraulic change, then i would definitely try re-bleeding the system first

I have a 626 manual 91, 2.2 non-turbo. the other day the gear box wouldn't let me put it in 3rd, then was unhappy with 1st and 2nd and gets stuck in 4th sometimes while driving, by turning the engine off...


The first check I would be doing is to bleed any air out of the clutch slave cylinder. I would be checking that the clutch system is operating and getting full disengagement of the clutch. From you description of the problem everything points to the clutch not working properly from either hydraulic problems or cable failure.

sounds like the syncros in your tranny are toast. they are what let your car go into gear and have little teeth on them. You know they are going bad when they start grinding. Id look in a salvage yard for a new tranny or have yours rebuild. Which can be pricey. Rate my answer man!

Check out faxonautoliterature. They have the original Pontiac service manual for your car, also wiring diagrams. This should help get you going again. I've used them before and had excellent service. Hope this helps.

Cant get 1st gear. 2nd gear nosiey and crunches, 3rd 4th 5th work but wine alot, reverse works fine. reverse lights stay on when driving. car is a mitsubishi gto twin turbo AWD 1991 plate.


Sorry but it sounds like it is trassmission time. you see the 3-5 gears work on another ration thatn 1& second they are on one shaft. the reverse is off in another world. sounds like one of the rods go stuck this is why the reverse lights stay on...

Hold your breath. It will be expensive but then on a manual I would see if the repair shop will find a used tranny. for 1/2 the cost..

VOLVO S60 2004 D5 3RD GEAR GEARBOX CRUNCH


Sounds as if a synchronizer is going out in 3rd gear, or 3rd gear maybe stripped. I would get it checked by a tranny (transmission) shop before it ended up costing you more money. There is a possibility that there may be some shavings on that gear as well, which would just need cleaned.
