2006 Nissan Murano disconnected battery now the idle is messed up

I have a 2006 Nissan Murano S. and I had a dead battery this afternoon so I disconnected the battery for about a half hour so I could take the old one in and get a new one. I put the new battery in and connected it. The car started right up. But as I started driving it, the idle was completely off. It would idle up or down while driving, the exhaust started to make a loud rattling noise and when you can to a stop and started to accelerate the car would start to stall and had real issues getting going. Once it actually stalled out. When it idles in park the idle is up and down the whole time. I have also driven it about 20 miles so far and restarted it about 5 times. This did not help the computer system to restart or relearn anything. Have you heard of this problem and do you have any suggestions on what I should do?

You should also check and make sure all parts of the tubing are connected between the air filter and the throttle body. If one of these comes loose it will cause your murano to run like that. This is pretty common.

Well it sounds like your mass airflow sensor is out the best thing to do is to take it to the auto parts store and they will read any codes it might have on it and most mainstreem auto parts stores do it for free. That or it could be the o2 sensor or plugs with out being there I'll have to cover all the bases

SOURCE: 2005 nissan murano sl, with rattling sound when accelerating

I recently experienced the same symptom with my '05 Murano and it was not a fuel problem. The dealer listed the cause as dry axle splines and replaced both front drive shaft assy's. Note that this was done as warranty with no cost incurred by me.

NOT SURE WHAT YOU SAYING ? WHEN GETTING JUMP STARTED, THE BATTERY FROM THE GOOD VEHICLE MUST PLACE JUMPER CABLES ON BATTERY TERMINALS, THE CAR BEING JUMPED, YOURS, THE (+) TERMINAL IS JUMPED FROM GOOD BATTERY, THEN THE (-) JUMPER CABLE FROM GOOD BATTERY GETS CLAMPED TO YOUR CARS FRAME OR ENGINE BLOCK, NOT YOUR DEAD BATERY !!!!!!! YOU MAY HAVE SHORTED SOMETHING OUT, MAYBE EVEN YOUR COMPUTER CHIP IN THE ECM ! YOU NEED A MASTER TECH TO HELP YOU ON THIS ONE, I WOULD'NT TOUCH THIS WITH A TEN FOOT POLE ! SORRY, I COULD BE WRONG, BUT, NOT AN EASY ISSUE OVER THE NET !!!!!!

Replaced battery on 2006 murano and now display for radio, air, etc does not come on

According to the owners manual - -
To turn on the screen, push the "SETTING", trip
control, air conditioner (except rear window defroster
button) or audio button.

There's nothing in the book about special instructions should the battery be disconnected, so if the screen will not come on I would guess a fuse or something happened to the power source.

Window limit switch reset on 2006 murano

You can try disconnecting both battery cables from the battery and touching them together for about a minute and then hook them back up that should reset it. I did it in a few newer vehicles and it seemed to work.

Purchased a 2009 Murano S. When the car is not

In that case, whenever u take it for a ride and return to your nest, lift the hood and disconnect the battery terminal which I would recommend having a clip(spring loaded clamps with metal jaws) removed from the battery. Next time you use it, first reattach the clamps to the batter, and start normally.......sodeep

How to Remove Car Radio from Nissan Murano

If you disconnect one of the battery cables for about 30 sec and reconnect it, that will reset the CD player. Then you can put in the key and see if can eject the offending CD. My bet is that it won't. I own a 2006 with a failing CD (getting it replaced on warranty next week). The CD player in these cars is a real stinker. Nissan should be ashamed.

Have you checked the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge? Sounds like the oil pump isn't putting out enough pressure and/or volume at idle speed.
