Need spark plug and distributor wire diagram for dodge ram van 1994 with 318 engine

if you have a friend to turn the engine over, little by little without starting it would help or better yet, pull the cap off the distributor leaving the rotor on, and with number one sparkplug out, cover the number one sparkplug hole with your finger but don't stick your finger in there, it'll get crushed, get your friend to bump the engine a little at a time, and when you notice a sudden whoosh of air take note of where the rotor is pointing... hello number 1, then clockwise or whichever way the rotor turns, apply the firing order... by the way it is 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2... good luck.

I change the engine on the car and it's bacfireing and hard to start with backfireing at all the time but it's runing it run fine

This sounds like a crossed sparkplug wire, start by making sure the firing order is correct, if theres a sparkplug wire in the wrong spot this would cause hard starting and the backfiring, so check the firing order first, i would of given you a firing order diagram but you forgot to list the year, make , model and the engine size. good luck and have a good day.

2000 cadillac sls v8 northstar cylinder 7 isnt firing and already put new sparkplugs in and still isnt firing.whats next

iginition coil needs to be replaced. By for about 150 to 200, and take the Northstar cover off and replace. Very easy fix. Car will then run like a jet engine.

Engine misfiring.

most all v8's have the same firing order which is 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2. sparkplug gap seems fine. with the engine off, bend the sparkplug wires between your fingers, if small cracks appear then replace them. number one sparkplug is located at the front driver side of the engine, front to back on this side are cylinders 2,4,6, and 8 respectively. turn the engine to the compression stroke on number one, pull the cap, the rotor points where number one will be.

Won't start turns over getting fuel and fire

make sure you are getting spark through the sparkplug wires. a sparkplug tester is the easiest way, or take a wire off one of the plugs try starting it and have another person watch the wire to see if a spark is coming off the wire to the sparkplugNOTE set the wire close to the sparkplug but leave a small gap between plug and wire so you can see the sparks. if not getting spark check all fuses first, otherwise the coil could be bad. or it could have coilpacks and one could be badNOTE every coilpack has two studs for wire, sometimes only one side of coilpack works if so it is bad both sides haft to work.

03 ford taurus wont fire ,spins over,no fire

What you do is take either and old sparkplug from the car or pull one from the car and connect one of the sparkplug wires to it. Then with an insulated set of pliers hold the sparkplug so the electrode is grounded. Then have someone crank the car over. This is best done at night so you can see if there is a spark. During the day however you should be able to here a spark. If not probably a bad coil.
