Question about 1995 GMC Jimmy
I have a 95 jimmy slt. When i shift from 2hi to 4hi the light next to 4hi comes on and when I'm driving slowly the lights for all wheels turn on but if I start to speed up those lights go out until I start hitting the breaks and they go out again when I'm completely stopped. The lights for all wheels stay on in 4low. After testing the 4w drive, proven working due to the "bucking bronco effect" turning, when I switch back to 2hi the 4w drive is still working cause the truck still bucks during tight turns and if I'm going slow enough during those tight turns the truck stops all together. Whats going on?
Eh! I gotta google too. :) The Ecu computer controls so much on these vehicles these days that the dealers aren't equiped tofix their own makes.. It is possible like the other post sai, that there is some form of bsd connection. I figure the computer controls the information highway and keeps the operator informed on the happenings. If I can suggest looking at the transfer case for any electrical that could be talking to the computer Or possibly a sensor that is poorly connected. Is there a particular time or condition like rough roads/off roading or any thing else you can narrow it down to? If you live local to riverside or Mira loma, I would be more than happy to have you drop over and work together on this. I'm retired and home 24/7 and need something to do. Won't cost, a mechanic at a shop would so just let me know. I have a few ideas we can then discuss. It would take a ck list to cover it on here. My name is Ned @909-630-3192. Nothing to lose. good luck and feel free to call.

You have a short, most likely behind your dash board that is causing your four wheel drive indicator to come on the only way to find out is to start looking up and underneath your dash board.
