Question about 1995 Jeep Cherokee
I hve a 95 Jeep Cherokee tht is bckfiring through the exhaust and it sounds like popcorn popping under the hood once u give the motor gas. it has a hard time starting but it will start. once i finally get it started it acts slugish. when i give it gas and raise the rpm's up it starts the popcorn sound? then after a few mins of giving it gas like tht it bckfires really loud. ive checked spark plugs, the oil is a good color, ive checked the radiator for oil and started it with the radiator cap off and it doesnt bubble.can anyone give me some suggestions or if u've had this problem with your Jeep....Please Help
Your a thinker and off to a good start. How about going to TDC on crank, pull dist cap and look where you rotor is. Thinking timing chain here. Put a timing light on it just to get some practice and see where the timing is. Also rock the crank back and forth with a long ratchet or tool of choice while watching the rotor. May need help, your looking for timing chain play, think it jumped about 3 to 4 teeth. Let me know because this advice is sort of a helpful quess
