It is not a complicated procedure and all the work is within reach and no special tools are needed (can be done with just a pair of regular pliers, but please safely use the proper tools).. The steps are below; however, you may want to go to your local public library (you don't need a library card) and go to the "Reference Section". There you can find "Chilton's and Motor's reference books on your vehicle. Find the pages related to changing the thermostat and photocopy them using the public copy machines (15 ~ 25 cents per page).

Here are the steps:
1. Locate the thermostat housing at the end of the top radiatoir hose where it connects to the engine manifold. It is held onto the hose with a clamp.
2. Drain the radiator coolant to a level below the height of the thermostat housing. The drain plug is a thumb-screw on the lower right of the radiator as you face the radiator (maybe lower left). Reach behind the radiator from the bottom of the car. When done, then:
3. Remove the two bolts that hold the thermostat housing to the manifold.
4. Remove the old thermostat from the engine (may be stuck - pry it off) and scrape the old gasket and sealant from the housing and the manifold.
5. Install new thermostat (pointy side towards radiator) and use sealant on both sides of the gasket.
6. I recommend Permatex #2 non-hardening gasket sealant (small tube $3).
7. Tighten the housing down and replenish radiator....

What is the flat rate time to replace rack and pinion 2001 toyota corolla?

Shade tree mechanic that knows what he's doing could do it in about an hour. Shops charge by the book no matter how quick they do it. If the book says 4 hours you will pay for 4 hours even if it only takes 1.

The AC is not cooling. The clutch engages but no cool air, 10 amp fuse is good. Can I charge the coolant myself(shade tree mechanic)? The vehicle is a 2001 GMC Jimmy, 2 wheel drive with automatic...

yes you can charge it yourself if the gas canisters are sold in your country ,sounds like its just low on gas so add 500grms and that will make it work ,follow instructions on the can but basicaly you start engine turn AC on full blow then connect can to low pressure port its the smaller of the two connections and let the engine draw the gas in ,do not put more than 500 grms in as overcharging the system will cause the engine to loose power and start surging in and out as you drive

When pushing down the pedal, the gears and pto is grinding more and more as time goes by. I adjusted the clutch pedal , but no help. Can this problem be fixed by a shade tree mechanic or do I need to take...

I am not a diesel mechanic, a tractor mechanic, or a shade tree mechanic. But, it sounds to me like it is time for a new clutch pack. Anyone with reasonable knowledge of simple mechanics can do this job at a much cheaper price than a professional diesel or tractor mechanic, but it can be a heavy duty job. I would weigh the differences in downtime of my equipment and the ability of my shade tree mechanic.

You can replace it easily, $74.99 2yr replacement. Just unhook the battery. the egr is a plug in play. once you hook it up, that's all needs to be done.

2002 I amloosing oil from my main oil seal. I would like to know how complicated this is to replace.

"Complicated" is a relative term. If you're a certified and trained Chrysler mechanic, it's only moderately complicated. If you're a shade tree mechanic, it's very complicated.
