I have a 1991 LeBaron convertable with the 3.0L V6. I have an oil leak, and thought it might be the valve covers. I replaced both valve covers, and still leaking, but I can't see from where. It seems to be coming from the front center of the engine, and is leaking pretty good. Where is the common leak spot for these vehicles, in that location?

Major oil leak....looked like it was leaking from oil pan but is not

Have the engine steam cleaned (watch any electronics) Run the engine & start looking from the top, down. It may be a bad valve cover leak from the rear of the cover or ck the front & rear seals. (cracked head, block etc. It could be many places

Oil leaking from toyota camry 1992, 1994 model

You don't say what engine it has. The 4-cyl was a better than the V6 for oil leaks.

The V6 had oil leaks from

-rear bank cam cover gasket

-distributor o-ring seal

-oil filter bracket o-ring seal

-crankshaft nose oil seal (less common)

-rear main bearing oil seal (expensive, just leave it)

The 4 cyl leaked oil from

-distributor o-ring seal

-camshaft cover gasket

-rear main bearing seal (expensive, leave it)

Chrysler le baron 1991 3.0 V6

If all you did was remove the pan and service it then 3 and 3/4 liters will fill it. If it was rebuilt and has no fluid at all then it will take 8 and 1/2 liters

Leaking valve cover gaskets

The problem is over tightening.

If you over tighten your fastners you will sqeeze your gaskets too much and they WILL leak.

You can use black silicon sealant LIGHTLY but you don't really need it. If you have the V6...the torque on them nuts are only 80 in lbs each
