On my 2005 F/expdn, if I am on red light stop, when rpm goes under 50 x 1000 my car shutdown. If I keep it above 50 by pressing accelrator is OK, pl suggest

1st your car should not idle below 110 rpm even in gear

idle problems on these are caused by both broken or open vac ports or a dirty throttle body the A/F ratio cant get a correct reading

My vehicle keeps shutting off when I slow down or stop.

sounds like the idle air motor is not working..try tapping the motor lightly while the engine is running.see if it tries to keep a idle.if so replace idle air motor and clean the port underneath the motor.

96 Neon idles a little too low it shuts off

This sound as if it may be the IAC or idle air control valve which is located just behind where the air intake hose attaches to the throttle body. This is a switch that tells the computer how fast the car should idle and adjust the air intake to keep the idle steady. If you go to one of the car part websites you can look up the IAC and see what it looks like for your particular vehicle. Autozone, Checker, Oreiley all have websites.

1994 camry 4cyl. was running great. drove it to work and shut it off, then went to start it back up and it shut right off, wont idle. I can keep it running by keeping my foot on gas and its not running...

have your idle control switch check, easy and inexpensive to replace. The idle control switch is what keep the engine stay idle. also have your throttle body clean by a professional having that many miles, it will give you better gas mileage.

Car keep shutting down

SOUNDS LIKE THE IDLE AIR VALVE IS CARBONED UP TRY SPRAYING CARBURETOR CLEANER INTO AIR INTAKE AT THE THRUTTLE BODY WHILE HOLDING IDLE SPEED AROUND 1500 TO 1900 RPMS USUALLY AFTER SPRAYING FOR SEVERAL MINUTES ABOUT HALF A CAN THE PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ...IF THIS DOES NO GOOD YOU MAY HAVE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE IDLE SPEED REPROGRAMED IN THE ECM WITH THE DEALERS DIAGNOSTIC SCAN TOOL....USUALLY FOR AROUND 50 TO 60 BUCKS HOPE THIS HELPS
