Question about 1992 Ford F150 SuperCab
New gas tank, fuel relay works, fuel pump works, the fuel switch is on, the fuel pump connector has been replaced. When the key is turned on you can hear the relay and the pump, but not every time with the pump. The truck will start if both turn on but when you go to drive it it acts like it's getting no gas, it chugs and dies even if you push on the gas. The tank is half full, we put two dry gases in it to see if that was a problem. We've looked at everything we can think of and can't find the problem. Any sugestions?
Sounds like the pump is not getting power all the time. I know you said you replaced the connector to the pump, but have you replaced the pump. It sounds like the pump has a short in it. Also when it does not work have you tried hitting the reset button on it to see if it will start working. Try this next time and if it starts working after messing with the switch the problem is in the switch.
