Question about 2005 Pontiac Sunfire

My muffler sits low ... approximately 3 1/2 inches above the ground! there is approximately 3 1/2 inches above the muffler so, my question is how close should the muffler be to the underside of the car? 2005 Pontiac Sunfire.

The rear muffler should almost be touching the underside of the vehicle

Where is the radiator fan switch located on a 2002 oldsmobile intrigue


The engine cooling fan system consists of 2 electrical cooling fans and 3 fan relays. The relays are arranged in a series/parallel configuration that allows the powertrain control module (PCM) to operate both fans together at low or high speeds. The cooling fans and fan relays receive battery positive voltage from the underhood accessory wiring junction block. The ground path is provided at G113. The relays are located in the underhood fuse / relay box .
So ,what's the problem Paul , car overheating ? Fans not working ?
During low speed operation, the PCM supplies the ground path for the low speed fan relay through the low speed cooling fan relay control circuit. This energizes the cooling fan 1 relay coil, closes the relay contacts, and supplies battery positive voltage from the cool fan 1 fuse through the cooling fan motor supply voltage circuit to the right cooling fan. The ground path for the right cooling fan is through the cooling fan 2 relay and the left cooling fan. The result is a series circuit with both fans running at low speed.
During high speed operation the PCM supplies the ground path for the cooling fan 1 relay through the low speed cooling fan relay control circuit. After a 3-second delay, the PCM supplies a ground path for the cooling fan 2 relay and the cooling fan 3 relay through the high speed cooling fan relay control circuit. This energizes the cooling fan 2 relay coil, closes the relay contacts, and provides a ground path for the right cooling fan. At the same time the cooling fan 3 relay coil is energized closing the relay contacts and provides battery positive voltage from the cool fan 2 fuse on the cooling fan motor supply voltage circuit to the left cooling fan. During high speed fan operation, both engine cooling fans have there own ground path. The result is a parallel circuit with both fans running at high speed.
The PCM commands Low Speed Fans on under the following conditions:

Engine coolant temperature exceeds approximately 106?°C (223?°F).


?€¢
When the A/C is requested and the ambient temperature is more than 50?°C (122?°F).


?€¢
A/C refrigerant pressure exceeds 1310 kPa (190 psi).


?€¢
After the vehicle is shut off if the engine coolant temperature at key-off is greater than 140?°C (284?°F) and system voltage is more than 12 volts. The fans will stay on for approximately 3 minutes.

The PCM commands High Speed Fans on under the following conditions:

Engine coolant temperature reaches 110?°C (230?°F).


?€¢
A/C refrigerant pressure exceeds 1655 kPa (240 psi).

When certain DTCs set.

You can look up the muffler online and get the in and out pipe sizes.

on newer Chysler, cars they have many codes with 106, leaving out the prefix is bad idea.

Like U0102

or C0106?

P0106 is MAP performance failure. (that dont mean replace it)

the puter has no IDEA what is wrong, only that tests failed.

here are the conditions.

When Monitored and Set Condition



  • When Monitored: Engine running for at least 30 seconds and no fault in the throttle valve actuator.


  • Set Condition: Low limit: The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor reading is below a calculated value when the throttle valve angle is greater than 80F for approximately 5 seconds. High limit: The MAP Sensor reading is greater than a calculated value that is determined by engine speed and throttle valve angle for approximately 5 seconds.




now in gringo or bar stool.

1: the puter brain saw you go near wide open throttle and the

map sensor (vacuum sensor) do not show new zero vacuum.

even a clogged air filter could do this, causing a false high vacuum

the word low is ambiguous in all FSM.

it can mean, low plenum pressure,

or low vacuum (opposite)

and low voltage, its a pain in the xxx to find this fact out.

the map outputs high voltage for low vacuum (same as high absolute pressure)



the fsm tests are inane.

we check the voltage out of the map

at keyon

running

and wide open throttle for 1 second. just gun it and watch.

here is what it does.

left side is wide open throttle, idle is 20 inchs. key on is, WOT.

so, what is that

4.5v is keyon

start engine, get about 1.5v

the gun engine, then drop throttel to zero throttle fast

the causes,. huge vacuum about 24 inches, or 1v or less

this is a working MAP. if those tests pass.

the test (OBD2 monitor) fails for about not getting near 4vdc from MAP output pin, DOES THIS HELP?

sound like worn coil springs wrong tire rim size or if you talking about exhaust system have muffler raise exhaust pipes if they hanging too low it will drag on every things roll over.

The problem is it wont start it has a good battery its turning over just wont start


Really-- 3 mufflers,rather than figuring out why
the first one went

I guess you asked for a new muffler & no other
diagnosing, as to the cause

Now after 5months-- maybe someone on the internet
could guess

If the fuel pump check valve has failed, it will take longer
to start, but only after a long sit

You have a problematic fuel pressure regulator under the
intake manifold, that could be leaking & dumping raw gas
into the exhaust

Buy now your exhaust converters are ruined by you
procrastinating & all the raw full

The air suspension bags most likely are shot. It takeas special tools to replace them.

Low ground clearance on 2006 B3500 Chevrolet Express Van. Is there a kit to help lift the vehicle a few inches and if so, will it affect the ride once installed.


I'm suppose to be getting information on a kit which will raise the vehicle approximately 3 inches.  Should have info. in a couple of weeks.  Thank You for your interest.
