First disconnect lights and check to see if they were problem if no change then need to find out why alt went bad in the first place[ground bad shorts in system] if you live by auto zone or advance auto they can test ur alt to make sure new one is not defective and can check battery for same if good need to start checking grounds and wire harnesses

After haveing a aftermarket radio installed, the low beam headlights and the brake lights dont work. The high beam lights will work if the high beam switch lever is held on.

Could be a wire behind the radio. I had a Camaro that had no dash lights after an aftermarket radio was installed. Almost never found the problem. And the company that installed the radio would not admit to causing the problem....even though I had a detailed description of the problem from the tech that fixed it. Wish I had better news for you.

Installed new CD deck in 07 Corolla, may have shorted something

first check the illumation fuse which to toyota its the panel fuse, check if it is blown. if not take the aftermarket wire harness u wired in with the radio harness and disconnect the orange wire (illumation wire) and see if u have lights again. sometimes the aftermarket orange wire won't work with toyota vehicles. good luck

Consider what you have changed when stereo was installed. Using existing wiring is not like it used to be. The electronics has changed that. Going from fuse block is not a good thing.
Try undoing and examining wiring for damage and consider routing from battery. Cables are available for extra wiring from the battery.
