Oil presure is at 120psi. Oil level ok, not over heating, no strange sound. Could it be the Oil sending switch. One last point, It started saturday and I have put on over 250 miles.

It could be the sender. hook up an manual gauge to verify the true psi..if it s 120psi you either have a spun bearing or blockage on the pressure side of the pump..possibly one of the passages on the lower end or a spun rod or main bearing somewhere.

sound like you have lost presure switch that is supposed to relive presure when presure is high or the belt is too tight putting presure on the bearing causing over heat or oil cooler restricted and not coolling the oil

No oil presure

The sending unit was my guess...Could be the oil pump going bad...Or even a to good brand oil filter restraining the oil from recirculating...I've seen it happen..

The oil pressure indicator light came on and flashed and a ding sound then it said "STOP" turn off engine. Not sure what is wrong. Oil level is ok.

it can be that your oilpump is packing up or your oil switch is faulty.the best bet is to do a oil presure test to check oilpump then you can work from there

When starting a cold engin the oil pressure light comes on. there is no noise of valves. the light stays on for aprox 2 to 4 minutes before the presure gage shows presure.

As long as there os no obvious noise you can either pull and try to clean pressure switch or replace the OP switch. Sounds like it's gummed up or connections have corrosion and it takes a little heat to make good contact.

The oil light comes on, but there is plenty of oil

well you have two things to check first to replace the oil presure switch and the check for the wire sometime the switch start leaking on the wire. if this didnot fix the problem then you need to check the oil pressure if this is didnot pass then you have an internal eng problem

Oil presure sending unit

Cadillac 1994 DeVille

Check, if the oil level is low, top off.
If the oil level was ok then you can replace the oil sending unit.

Oil engine is flashing 5 times after starting the engine

change the sensor...however, I bet you are using very thin oil or you oil pump is going bad.  Have the oil pressure tested.

98 altima oil light on and off oil level fine car restarted and

If oil pressure is LOW this vehicle has a safety feature that will prevent vehicle from starting.(check oil level before you start) Now what I wan't you to do is to have the oil pressure switch checked or changed. This may be the reason why this vehicle is not starting or it can also be that the actual oil pressure is low. To check the oil pressure of the vehicle you will need an oil pressure guage. Remove the oil pressure switch and connect guage to oil pressure hole and check oil pressure while cranking vehicle. Some pressure testers can be connected to oil filter housing either is fine. If this vehicle has low oil pressure the reasons for that are bad oil pump, clogged oil pump pick up(from lack of oil change/poor mantainence) or bad connecting rod and main bearings but this usually have a warning from before (the engine will sound loud by knocking /clicking-tapping noise) It this was happening you may need to rebuild this engine or replace it. Good luck and Thanks for using FIX YA
