Fuse keeps blowing for fuel pump

Car broke down , had it towed home went through the fuses and the fuel pump fuse was blown. Put a new one in and took it for a test drive and it took two more fuses to make it back to the house. Starts and drives normal until the fuse blows.

The fuel pump is most likely "going bad" -- the motor winding is begining to short and pulling too much current.

Have a 1999 Dodge Avenger V6. Keeps blowing Engine Fuse under hood

Fusible link 3 feeds the PCM. the ASD relay, and fuel pump relay. Assuming it has A/T, that fusible link also feeds the starter relay, the EATX-ECM, and the EATX relay. A short in any of those elements could be causing the trouble.

I have a 1994 bonneville 3.8-i replaced my fuel pump recently, i keep having my fuel injector fuse blow, i took the injectors off and tested and cleaned them, the car seems to run real good

You have a short in the wiring to the fuel pump.. Go back and check all the wiring you touched. you may have not routed the wires at the tank correctly and they are shorted (crushed).. SINCE IT HAPPENS SOMETIMES.. I WOULD put in a new fuse turn on the key start the engine and look at the wires near the fuel pump and move them to see if you can create the short and find it. you will know when you find it because the engine will stop running as the fues blows. Don't take anything else apart till you cure the first problem. The very worst thing it can be is a short inside the tank at the pump. Post and let us know what you find.

2008 Chevrolet Malibu 2LT mirror fuse keeps blowing

Remove the door panel and isconnect the mirror and see if the fuse still blows, if it does the wiring is at fault to the mirror, if no fuse issue the mirror motor is shorted.

If it "keeps" blowing the ECM fuse, it is because you "KEEP" replacing the fuse without diagnosing and repairing the reason the fuse is blown.

Your fuel pump is internally binding and causing the fuse to blow. Change the pump (and filter while you're back there.)

disconnect wiring to pump. install new fuse for the pump and turn over ignition. the car wont start because the fuel pump wiring is diconnected. check the fuse to the fuel pump, if the fuse did not blow when the pump is disconnected it is a faulty fuel pump. I read this somewhere and a garage is up to 850 dollars in parts and labor only to offer me more parts and labor not relevent to my problem. I am towing it home and running this test my self.
