1999 grand cherokee jeep -coolant fan will not shut off

Hi Jeepers,

The fan will occassionally continue to run for five or ten minutes after the vehicle shuts down. This is normal.

What is not normal is if it keeps running until the battery drains.

Does it just keep running?
If it eventually shuts off, how long does it take?
Did this just start happening?
The two days you mentioned, were they short trips, opposed to the third day?

If you would comment me back with some more details, it would help me help you.

I believe you need to check to see how the fan wiring is run. The fan on your jeep is an electric fan and may be wired directly to the battery, Why someone would do this I do not know but this may be the case.
