Sounds like the car is in fail safe mode (limp home mode/ car is stuck in 3rd) if you want to sell it you will need to fix it it may be a mionour sensor problem our the auto may of failed ether way you will need to go the a mechanic to get it checked out

We have a '79 Datsun B-210. We just had the slave cylinder for the clutch fixed a couple of months ago. After the fix we had trouble putting it in 1st and 3rd. Now it's stuck in 3rd and won

Good after noon, it`s definitely inside the gearbox, but you might be lucky to get the gear lever out by removing the gear lever it selve then try pulling the 3rd sellector in place, normally when that happence, the bushes on the gear lever ball is worn out and has to be replace, hope my info helps.

Shifting problems on my 2000 Subaru Legacy Wagon. 4th Gear slips out, won't hold in at all. 3rd grinds when I shift it into gear, but slides in w/o the noise if I let the car slow down for a couple...

I would buy a used Trans and fix the other one over time. That way you can take it apart and it might not take a lot of money to fix it. Then you can sell it or save it. Also you may look at the different trans to put in yours. Maybe a Legacy GT 6 speed. Good luck and have a great day.

06 ford focus 5spd. no 1st, 3rd, or 5th gear.

It sound like the gear linkage isn,t set up right, you wouldn,t always be able to engage a gear unless you rocked the car.

Transmission problem in E230 Benz

What you need to check is the transmission release bearing because if there is a clearance on the release bearing you will encounter this problem and also check the transmission oil.

Transmission won't shift to 2nd and 3rd gears goes from 1st to 4th.

Doesn't sound like a simple fix. I would suggest having it serviced.

by the sound of this problem it seems to be 1 of 2 things it could be a bush or your gear shift cable needs to be adjusted
