Question about 2000 Dodge Intrepid
There is a sprung idler wheel that keeps the tension on the belt, if you look at it you will see a hexagon or square that you fit a wrench on and turn against the spring to loosen the belt (it saves a lot of time and stress if you get someone to hold the tension while you change the alternator as the serpentine belts can be trying to re-thread, note the belt run or take a photo to make is easy if you do remove it)
