Mustang gt 5.0 inside passenger side car in motion auto trans in drive or neutral, knocking noise heard from transmission area

check your torque converter bolts/nuts.
and if it ONLY makes the noise when it's in neutral or drive NOT moving I'd suspect a front pump torque converter. You can unhook the torque converter to isolate this diagnosis... If it ONLY happens when the vehicle is in motion you might be looking in the wrong place

My 2000 ford focus will not start. It does not make any noise but the lights go on. It doesn't even turn over. My mechanic disconnected the remote car starter and that seemed to help but now I'm...

If it's not a dead battery, it could have bad connections. Check battery connections for tightness

Check the battery cable connection on the start solenoid, usually very near the battery. Check all wires on the sloenoid.

Check solenoid cable to starter for tightness at both ends.
If starter & battere are good it has to be one of above'

Good Luck

MR-2 1991 J Reg Starting problem. Say 1 in 50. Will not start. Starter motor not turn over. I have new battery. Has been intermitent for 6 mon.No noise at all. Have swapped Starter relay. Cheers Dave

Have you checked your ignition fuse? Check that first. Make sure the battery is connected properly and the terminals are tight and not loose. They may need done over. May need new terminals. They are only a few bucks a piece. Check all your wires and make sure none are damaged. Check your wires at the starter and make sure they are not damaged. Check for burnt wires at the starter as well. If you have no interior lights, you have a bad connection at the battery. If you do have lights, recheck all the wires to the charging system.

Car intermitantly will not start..make a click noise but not a click click noise it was jumped one day...seemed fine morning day would not neighbor jumped it said it might...

Check the battery first, if it is ok you probably have a bad starter. If the battery is drained, you need to charge and test the battery and alternator.

Cherokee intermitant grinding noise in neutral

Is it when the engine first starts? It sounds like to me that the starter is getting stuck in the fly wheel. what happens is when you go to start it, the solenoid push's the gear out and spins the gear almost one full action, the grinding noise could be the starter staying engaged after the motor has starter but quickly comes out of it after driving out of it. just a thought.
