Go underneath and look at tranny, There will be an upper filler plug and a lower drain plug. You can get top and hose for your gear oil / tranny fluid and fill. The level of the fluid should be exactly at bottom of hole

Alot of the newer vehicles have maintenance free transmisions so they dont have dip sticks. And if it is maintenance free it will tell you under the hood.

2009 Jeep Patriot transmission fluid fill. How much fluid is required to fill the transmission as if the car was new, as this is a new transmission. Thanks.

no transmission stated, A/T or M/T? fluid implies A./T , lube implies m/t so automatic but which one?? the CVT?
they have options.
the fsm covers this. lost that?
the steps are in the book,

is the TC dry, the main torque converter?
surely you know that there are steps on a true dry box.
that are not related to operators manual at all.
nor covered under , simple service. (drain and fill)
it's covered under new box and new empty converter.
most are first prefill then using a scan tool we check the temperature of the ATF and set the levels carefully with the temperature chart.

here is the last line in install
Use only MOPAR® CVTF +4 fluid. Use of any other type of automatic transmission fluid may cause damage to the CVT

the simple service amount is 8 pints, 4 quarts and is NOT the overhauled
amount at all as he TC holds lots more,
i have 2008 CD FSM but the SVG code does not run on new computers.

ok , have old xp laptop
and can view svg, now.

here is your answer
but this forum sux so it shrinks all photos to useless.state
so what does it say?
line 3b states...
17.1 pints (not quarts or liter) if overhauled.
that is off the real FSM. not clones or other bs.

Engine starts good but not gearing up

Bad news, check your transmission fluid and if it's still there check the viscosity ( thickness ) if the fluid is thin and and spells burnt. It could be yout torque converter. If the transmission doesn't engaged, it could be your torque converter, let's hope otherwise your transmission is jacked! Means $.

Cant find the dipstick on a standard jeep liberty 2003 to change the transmission fluid

The transmission fluid stick is usually toward the back of the engine. That's right where the engine transmission connect together. It should also be labeled transmission on top of the stick. To check transmission fluid level, you need to let it run about 5 minutes on a level surface, then check the level. When you check it,if you see little metal flakes on the stick, there is something very wrong with your transmission.Good luck! How do I check Transmission Fluid on my 2007 Jeep Liberty

Jeep decided that there is no need to check the trans fluid, the trans is is sealed unit. You have a tube for the trans fluid, but it has a factory cap and no dip stick. A special tool is needed to check the fluid level.

code readers cant.the scan tools can but are real expensive.if you havent drained the trans oil yet just drive it around a while and check it.if you have drained the oil then try to measure what you took out and put that much in.if you cant measure old oil then add fluid while engine running in nuetral{double check the nuetral position writen on dip stick} add fluid untill oil is below the add level let it run for a while say 30 minutes and recheck add th full then go drive it around.recheck again if low add if high drain out or siphion some out throuh small hose through the dip stick tube
