Make sure that the vacuum hose connector is connected AND connected correctly at the transfer case and at the front differential. If that is all right and the front differential still doesn't engage, then you need to test the vacuum actuator at the front differential.

94 S10 Blazer, 4X4 , has a high low rocker switch, which i hate, it wont engage in 4wd mode, how does that stupid switch work ?, Vaccum ?

You will probably need a shop manual to work on it yourself. The switch on the dash controls a vac servo on the transfer case. The servo controls an actuator under the battery which sends vac to the front axle. The transfer case and front axle servo work together.

The front wheels on my 2000 gmc jimmy will not lock in 4hi or 4lo

In addition to transfer case engagement via an actuator on the "T" case there is a front axle actuator. On my Blazer which I'd bet is very similar.. There was a vacuum diaphragm under the battery which operated a cable to "lock in" front axle. make sure you have vacuum supply when asking for 4 wheel operation and make sure cable is not seized. If this checks out o.k. back to transfer case. your question asked about front wheels locking so I assumed your "T"case was working

My 93 s10 blazer 4wd it will go in high an low rang but will not lock in

On all the 90s s-10s there is a vacuum actuator under the battery tray and a vacuum switch on the transfer case itself. It is comon for the switch on the t-case to go bad and keep the front axle from engageing. If the front axle doesnt engage the truck will not have four wheel drive.let me know if this helped.

I have a 94 s10 4x4 when i put it in 4wd u can hear it clunk clunk trying to engage but front wheels wont pull

? are they manual locking hubs where you have to get out and lock them? if not you may have a vacuum leak to your actuaters .my spelling is terrible.another ? is the clunking sound only when you put in 4wheel or is it in 2 wheel also.if so you also may have a bad universal joint either in the front drive axle or the rear drive axle.

My 89 chevy s-10 pickup 4 wheel drive doesnt work. the transfer case goes into gear but the front hubs seem like they dont lock in i was told it was a fuse or a vaccuum line but i have never heard of...

On the 1989 s10 it has a vacuum actuator that actually locks the front differential in ,you need to check that first, those go bad real often, and without it. There's no way it will lock in the axle, the transfer case will lock in ,but the front differential uses a actuator. It 's located under the battery tray and there is a cable towards the front of the differential. Id say the actuator cable has gone out, most parts stores can get you one ,that what goes wrong with those 99% of the time and it only takes about 5 minutes to change it out. Good luck but check the vacuum line to the actuator under the battery tray.

Front tires not spinning while in 4wd on 1999 chevrolet

Sounds like your front actuator in the axle is not working..What you can do for now instead of buying a new one is remove the front actuator. It is a threaded in unit.Take a crescent wrench and remove it.Next find a big nut or bolt to put inside of it.Once you have it off you can jack the front end up put your finger inside of the hole where actuator goes.Rotate the front tires back and forth and till you can push the tab inside in.That will lock the front end .And the reason your putting the bolt or nut in there is to take up the space the actuator would normally would Push in..Remember your front axle is always going to be lock and you will still be able to unlock it with the push button. After you put the bolt in the hole screw the actuator back in.This will hold the bolt and keep your axle locked.........

4x4 want enage light doesnt come on

There is a vacuum switch on the transfer case that goes bad. Check to see if you have vacuum to the actuator for the front axle when it is engaged. The actuator is located on the right fender area under the battery I think. Check the hose also.
