Need more info. Does the motor turn over and try to start when the key is turned? Is there a clicking noise or silence when you try? Do the lights work indicating battery power? Some vehicles can't be shifted into gear unless the engine is running. Also, they won't start is there is a safety switch out of order, commonly the neutral safety or brake switch.

Check your battery first.

the beauty of the solenoid being by the battery on fords is you can use it to start the truck. Turn key on, take two screwdrivers with plastic handles, touch one to the battery post and the other to the solenoid and then touch the metal part of the screwdrivers together. They will spark and the truck should start. If it does, then your solenoid is bad. If not, check your coil.

96 ford 4.9 5 speed hydrolich clutch wont shift all of a sudden new master cylinder

You have a leak and you have air in the system. More than likely the slave cylinder is leaking, the slave is a direct acting one and as with all direct acting slave cylinder it is located inside the transmission bell housing on the transmission input shaft collar. The transmission must be removed to replace it.

1994 F-150 wont shift when running but clutch is not slipping

Pull the trans, strip it down & replace the worn parts,
like the synco rings, that should be obvious

You don't need the engine running or drive it, to try & shift
through the gears

I had the hydraulic clutch and master cylinder in my 89 ford f-150 changed now even with the clutch to the floor the truck still moves and will only go in gear when the motor is off, If the motor is...

You can leave it out but the fluid will become contaminated from stuff getting in past the cap. You should be able to get the right replacement, if not you may be able to fold or cut the existing one and secure it with a zip-tie or wire to 'shrink' it while still keeping it sealed up. What the diaphragm does is allow for expansion/contraction within the reservoir without letting outside air into the fluid.

1989 Ford F-150 4.9L 300 inline 6 cylinder 5 speed stuck in 3rd Gear? any solutions

If your clutch master cylinder is good in all other gears: you can disengage and, shift the other gears with the engine not running and, you have the correct amount of clutch fluid
in your clutch master cylinder: to release the clutch:
you have a broken 5th gear syncro and, a bent fork
remove the transmission and, when you remove the shift cover you will
see the problem; you must drain the transmission case remove any metal debris; remove the gear set and, replace the syncro...the fork can probably be
re-straightened use clean, new case oil when you reassemble the transmission.

Transmission wont shift into gear unless i turn

Ford Explorers are nice, but are commonly known for the trannsmssion to fail, I know becuase I know of people who also went through this tranny problem, Get it fixed and install a new tranny cool, heat is the number one cause for failure. I personally wouldn't get a Explorer from other peoples experiences.

it sounds like you are 180 out on the distributor try pulling it out and turning the rotor to the opposite side and putting it back in. the #1 cylinder will hit tdc twice for every time it fires the plug you are probably hitting it on the wrong tdc stroke.
