Question about 1987 Ford F 150
Check your battery first.
the beauty of the solenoid being by the battery on fords is you can use it to start the truck. Turn key on, take two screwdrivers with plastic handles, touch one to the battery post and the other to the solenoid and then touch the metal part of the screwdrivers together. They will spark and the truck should start. If it does, then your solenoid is bad. If not, check your coil.
