Question about 1995 Ford F150 Styleside Regular Cab

2 Answers

I have a 1995 Ford F150 Lightning. Saturday morning after opening the door (having not started the truck yet but I did pull on the lights and twisted it to turn on the cargo bed light) the tail lights stayed on even after turning the lights off (Its looks like I am applying the brakes all the time) and my cruise control stopped working. I checked the fuse (since it controls the cruise and lights) and actually replaced it to make sure...The truck has 301,243 miles on it. I appreciate any advice anyone can offer.

It actually turned out to be something called the stoplight switch ($7.00 at Advance). Its located under the steering wheel and the reason that the cruise would not work, is because the cruise control thought that I was applying the brakes. It was a simple fix and I cannot even imagine what the dealer would have charged us.

It would appear that your brakelight switch is hanging up, and should be replaced as soon as possible.

I would take a SWAG that the blower motor resistor is shorted to power, causing the issue.

Need to squeeze the top of the glove box together, to let the stops come past the opening, and let it drop straight down.

I have a 1995 Ford F150, Iwant to know how to Replace the dome light switch? my dome light stays on when I shut the door.

For the 97 and newer model year trucks, this is a case of needing to spray the door latch with WD-40, the contacts stopped working ( dirty / gummed up contacts ).

Not 100% sure this is the same on the 95 MY truck, but on the 97 and newer it took a few rounds of a good spray, close and open the door, good spray, repeat to get the contacts working again.

Worth a try, if the light does not shut off due to the door, I would say it is a problem with the door switch to the LCM ( Lighting Control Module - moved in the 97 + MY to the GEM ).

I need to change the brake light bulbs in my 2002 ford courier

This is a pretty simple DIY I just didi it last Saturday! When you open the hatch there are 2 robertson screws on the side of the door seal where the tail lights meet the door opening. Remove both screws and pull the tail light lens straight out towards you trying not to pull the inside out much further than the other side (it is held in with clips on the outer edge that may break. The whole light assembly will come out in your hands with only the bulb holder wires keeping it attached. The bulbs twist 1/4 turn to remove and easy replacement of the bulb. Do the reverse to replace! Hope this helps

How can I dissassemble the door lock from the door handle, it looks like it is intertwined with each other. I am trying to fix the handle in a 1995 ford F 150.

The lock is manuvered by pulling on the inside door release or pulling the lockknob up. Yes they work in conjunction with each other. If you disconnect the link to the release handle the door will no longer unlock with the handle but will still open(unlock) with the key and the knob.

Computer or wiring

If battery good, ( you did have it load tested right?) you probably have some kind of current draw, your not aware of. If you have a 12vdc test light, remove ,+ battery terminal & connect light between battery connection & battery. If light is on & bright, there is definately a current draw when vehicle off. A small amount of draw will be present from radio/stereo memory. Start pulling & re-installing fuses one at a time, and when light dims, or goes out, you've found the circuit causing the draw, and can now isolate it to whatever is fused on that circuit. If no luck that way, make a map of where they all go, and pull them all, and start re-installing one at a time until light comes on, to isolate

Use some WD40 and a pair of channel lock pliers. Don't PULL with the pliers, just twist the hoses and they should break loose from the fittings. Then you will be able to just pull them off. :)

Hope it helps bud!
