No worries.

It's a good car. Just make sure it is well serviced.

Brake line leaks above the gas tank-is there any easy way to fix this

Easy? No. Easier, yes. Remove truck bed bolts (~4-6, not hard to remove), raise bed by blocking bed up with 4x4 or 6x6 wood blocks. Access brake lines, fuel pump, etc. I lifted mine by myself to replace a fuel pump. I may have learned about tip on fixya long ago myself.

Have the charging system tested when this happens, you could have a defective diode in the alternator.

I'm thinking of buying a 2002 2500HD duramax 4x4.

good trucks, but they've been known to give trouble.( injector pumps, fuel filter housings, etc.) the injector pump alone runs around $1500.00, without labor. fuel pump housing,$150.00,and so on. and pray the turbo doesn't go out! my sugestion? buy a gas rig with a 350 that has maintainence records and about 125.000 to 150.000 miles. it will last you a good long time.

I think i had a misfortune of buying bad petrol, now my car just spatters and switches off.what do i need to do?

besides draining the whole fuel tank -- the next best thing to do is to drain out the fuel filter completely and re-install,AND then go to your local auto parts store and buy some stuff call 'HEAT' ( this is a gas additive that removes water that may be in the tank ) and add this to the tank,, don't worry about the the correct amount to add ( fuel to heat ratio ) -- just pour the whole little bottle into the tank. now while you are at the parts store -- also pick up a 'octane booster' ( like 'Octane101' or something similar ) and add this to your tank along with the 'Heat'. between the two this will help curve the bad fuel. now since bad fuel does not burn very clean it is also a good idea to remove, check and clean your spark plugs,, if they look kinda on the so-so side, replace them with new ones,, this will ensure that you have good spark ( which is very important !! ).
now this has happened to me twice and to a few of my friends -- AND I would call the gas station that you got the fuel from and tell them that you got bad gas there,, I have actually got one of them to pay for the fuel clean out chemicals that I had to buy to fix the problem.
IF you want it done 100% correctly,, you can drain the fuel tank completely and start with new fuel,, but if you have a FULL tank - this could be kinda a big pain.. the best way to drain the tank would be to disconnect the fuel pump DELIVERY side line and just let the fuel pump pump the fuel from the tank into small gas cans,( you will need to buy a small hose to attach to the fuel pump to feed into the small gas tanks ),,, and then start with new fuel,, remember to drain out the fuel filter and check and clean the spark plugs.
if you need anymore help, please feel free to write me back here and I will do my best to walk you through the steps needed.

Truck hasnt been started in 2 years..last known issue is the alternator..any concerns i should be worried about?

your first concern will be lubrication. remove the coil wire and crank over till the oil pressure reads on the guage. #2 your fuel is probably bad. drain tanks and replace filter and refill with fresh gas. sitting that long the gas may also of done harm to your fuel pump so if it does not start chk to see if your getting fuel. if not a new pump may be in order.

1999 GMC Suburban K2500 7.4L 4x4 starting problems

I the fuses and relays are good for the pump it could be a bad pump especialy if you was having starting problems make sure you have power to the pump. Also do this before changing pump. Put your key in turn it on dont start wait 10 mins remove key wait 10 seconds repeat this a total of 3 times. If that dont work try a different key do the same thing. This relearns your key to the ignition it started with Gm cars and trucks from 1999 to to 2006. It is a big problem but there is no recall that I know of. If that dont work a dealer needs to probably replace and reprogram your ignition switch and keys

Well, we have a 1993 jeep grand Cherokee. It runs/sounds perfect. It started getting hard to start when cold, losing power and jerking while driving. Also couldn't hear the fuel pump kick in so we...

Seems as though you're on the right track what about the fuel filter, have you done a pressure test for the fuel pump as well as the fuel pressure regulator is good also plug wires, and the vacuum lines are not dry-- Rotted ... also after reattaching your fuses and relays if you get it running again try spraying carburetors choke cleaner or brake-cleaner around the manifold for leaks... if it is sucking air will cause it not to run properly.(Also note even though it's a new fuel pump they do come defective) a pressure test will determine this.
I hope this helps you.

I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero . Alternator problems

Verify your connections at the battery, not just for being tight but for corrosion as well, on the terminal and the cable.

Also check for oil on the bottom of the alternator. The right hand cam seal is notorious for leaking directly onto the alternator, killing them quickly.

That all being said, I haven't seen an aftermarket alternator last on a Montero for more than a month or two; so if your new ones are not OEM, you might consider getting a genuine one if your corrosion and oil leak checks are OK.
