Question about 1995 Subaru Impreza
Every so often my brake lights stay on and kill my battery. Then this morning the lights were off, but I could not take the car out of Park. There is a safety of some sort that wont allow the car out of park unless the brakes are activated which I assume runs through the break lights. I replaced the brake switch but I still have the problem. When its working fine, I can hear a clicking under my console which I think is a relay. When its not working the relay is not making the clicking noise. This leads me to believe that I have a problem with wires on the line, or maybe the relay switch itself. I am wondering if anyone can verify this for me, and possibly give me a direction as to where I can find the relay swtich so I can replace it.
The clicking you hear is the shift interlock releasing this is normal,i just posted a hopfully useful correction about this same concern, check the button on the pedal that the brake switch plunger rests on it maybe cracked hope this helps good luck
