Replace hose and recharge your AC. Dealer will charge a fortune. Get a kit from autozone for about $40.

Why does my ac compressor come on when I turn my heat on?

If the defroster is on it will use the air conditioner to pull moisture out of the air before it blows it back on your glass. Prevents condensation. Try turning your heat to just floor or front vents and it see if it still kicks on.

Having rouble with air conditioner, I have changed hose, added freeon, blowed out the hose. Nothing has helped. It will put out cool air for a minute then it turns to hot air.

check oil level in compressor if oil level ok your orfice tube may be cloged or you have a line that has a leaking it loosing freon you could buy a leak detector dye for diy at your auto parts store that will show a leak in system

1998 Chevy S10 pickup air condition compres is on instead of heat

First be sure that you do not have the controls set to defrost the windows since on just about all vehicles nowadays with the controls set that way the air conditioner will be turned on...even if it is not so warm outside. sure that you do not have any of the controls set to defrost and that the heater is turned all the way on.

It sounds like though that the control for the vents is not operating properly. This is a combination of mechanical movements of the vent flaps and small "air motors" that operate the flaps. These air units are controlled by air vacuum taken from the engine compartment through tiny hoses. If the hoses get cracks, holes or come loose from their fittings then your vents will not move correctly so it is a matter of looking and tracing each one of the hoses to make sure they are fastened correctly, have not come loose and are not cracked or leaking. The problem can even be in the engine compartment where the hose(s) connect to the engine vacuum it will take lots of looking carefully with flashlights etc....good luck.

Air conditioner quit working

first thing to check is loss of gas pressure due to leaks , this is the most common failure.

if gas is good then could be a number if things , compressor , climate controller unit , bad wiring or connections somewhere.

Were is the port to put freeon in the air conditione in the engine.

Larger diameter of the 2 lines & hoses should be low side. Follow from compressor or firewall, valve should be visible in line.

My 1996 Lincoln Town car heater works but you cannot control the temperature and the air conditioner blows out hot air when turned on.What could be the cause of this problem?

To fix the AC unit which blows hot air all the time. Seems like you have a small leak in the system or the AC compressor has gone out. Suggest you try recharging the unit. Make sure you have the correct R-22 or 134A freeon. If this work for a few days then have the leak fixed, if this doesn't work replace the compressor. Check Ebay for the compressor i obtained one for $100.00. Cost $450 at Auto Zone.

2001 Hyundai Sonata 4cyl. Air conditioner worked irratically. Serpentine belt broke and was replaced. A/C started working again, then began only blowing cool air at higher speeds. Now does not blow cool...

Check the AC magnetic clutch relay, it may be sticking open. Bypass it (located under the hood) and see if the system cools down, if not you have other problems.
