Question about Chevrolet Chevette

6 Answers

I have 2009 Corvette, with battery problems as follows: IT seems when it sits for a week or so the battery goes dead. The dealer could not find anything wrong except for a bad battery, so they replaced it. However 30 days later it happened again after the sat for 7 days. They arte now doing further testing with another new battery. What do you think the problem could be.

My Corvette dealer told me yesterday that I almost must drive my 2008 Corvette every few ? days or the Delco battery WILL start draining, and I've noticed that my FOB is MUCH slower responding and this on a best Dealer Delco 2 year old battery.

It has a draw, and they will be best equipped to find it. There are more modules on that car than the shuttle. it may take them a while, its warranty right?? its just a process of elimination, removing modules/ components from the "LOOP" until the draw goes away. good luck

Let the dealer sort it out, but it is a most likely the delayed exit circuit stays on.

Same problem - 2009 coupe on my second battery, it's now dead. first one went dead after two weeks; this one just went dead after sitting for a little over a week. I'll go back to the dealer when I return home in NOV. i'll just let it sit; found out the roadside assistance works well used it the first time when the original battery went out.

Dealer says only 5 of 6 sensors on sliding door are making a connection. The sensor not working is drawing power, effectively killing my battery every 3 weeks or so.

Does your vehicle sit for 3 weeks at a time? There will always be a draw on the battery. It is called a parasitic draw. This draw comes from computers and modules within the vehicle to maintain memories. If the vehicle sits for 3 weeks or more, this small drain will deplete the battery. If the vehicle is driven daily and every 3 weeks the battery goes dead overnight, the draw will have to be high. If the door is the problem, I would suspect the battery to be dead every morning. Removing the door fuse will illiminate the door as the problem. The life expectancy of an automotive battery is 5 years. Anything older can start to cause electrical problems.

How long can you let a new corvette sit before the battery runs down

With a good quality new battery it should be fine for one year or so, type of battery is important also, conventional car batteries tend to lose around 5% of their power each month or so.

Purchased a 2009 Murano S. When the car is not

In that case, whenever u take it for a ride and return to your nest, lift the hood and disconnect the battery terminal which I would recommend having a clip(spring loaded clamps with metal jaws) removed from the battery. Next time you use it, first reattach the clamps to the batter, and start normally.......sodeep
