Absolutely take it to the Lincoln dealer. You have a longer warranty with a Lincoln, Lincoln loaners with appointment. Chances are Customer concerns are mounting and the dealer will check for Technical service bulletins.
It sounds like the downshift in the transmission is rough. These are computer controlled and they may be able to plug your car into a computer and reprogram it to the newest standard.

Why not take this to a dealer as it still has factory warranty? Just take the advisor or technician with you on a short road test?
