Have you changed your spark plug wires and distributor cap? You might have a spark jumping from a bad wire or distributor cap. Under acceleration, the amount of air/fuel in the cylinder increases and this may make it harder for a spark to jump across the plug gap. It may be finding a different path, and that is what's causing your engine to run rough. Spray water over your spark plug wires in a dark place and listen to see if your engine runs rough. Look for where the spark is jumping from a wire or distributor cap.
cap ,rotor ,spark plug wire , spark plug could misfire.... the check engine light flash because it's a severe misfire and fuel go to converter catalyst.
Oxygen sensor only report the condition of the engine the rough running condition can range from a worn sparkplug wires to worn sparkplugs to valve problems to injector problems. with the cadillac deville a tune up should be the first attempt to smooth the rough idle with the inspection of the cap and rotor cap and rotor do have a tendancy to arc internally and create misfire so does sparkplug wire that can leak spark voltage to ground and create misfire. the spark plug wire especially if they are brittle and hard can create issues
did you just replace the plugs or replace ignition wires, rotor, and cap (or) ignition coils if applicable? and you check whether its fuel or spark problem by running the engine and taking the plug wire off the spark plug and seeing if there is spark and noting any change in the engine, if the engine runs rough(er) or stalls then you know there is no problem spark related with that cylender, if no change occours when you take the plug wire off the plug then you know there is either a no spark condition (you will be able to see if this is the case) or if there is spark and it is a fuel problem. self explanatory, if everything you test for passes then you probably have internal engine damage. recommended that you use rubber grip pliers when you take the plug wires off while the engine is running, do not ground yourself. Hope this helps! Joseph.
A idle speed motor will not cause your engine to run rough. It might idle high or stall. If your engine is running rough check your spark plugs and wires along with your cap and rotor first.
could be many problems. Do u have a check engine light on in the dash? May also want to check spark plug wires, cap and rotor. Spray them with water while the motor is running, if it acts funny, bad wires or cap/rotor.
I need to know which engine is in ur golf ex: 1.8l 2.0l
