Heater and air conditioning blowing some type of mist or steam out of heater outlets. Do replace about a gallon a month of antifreeze.Could this be heater core? Would I be able to change it myself? I am a 49 yo woman with moderate car fixing abilities.

Likely you have a leak in your heater core We have had a problem with a film on the windows on older vehicles and that was the problem

Car heater blowing cold air and rubber burnning

If your heater is spraying a light mist through your vents it could be your heater coil. Mine did the same thing, smell rubber burning, then started a light mist through the vents. If you don't get that checked out, it could mess up your water pump and possibly your engine

Hiya, On Tuesday just gone I noticed that the windows were not demisting, and had to keep wiping the inside of the windows, I would start off in the car and the windows would mist up whilst driving....

I would suggest that you have a small leak in your heater core. It does not take much of a leak to cause moisture on the windows. Eventually your radiator fluid will start to go down. This will not get any better and you need to replace the heater core. You may soon smell a sweet antifreeze smell as well and if you drive that way your interior will get sticky. Get it checked ASAP

I smell antifreeze, found no leaks, vehicle is not running hot

Its the heater core you smell it on the inside because the fan is blowing it into the vehicle antifreeze is unuswal stuff it forms a mist and becomes air borne even a small leak you will smell with the fan running look for wet spots on the carpet under the core but the mist may be so fine and you wonn;t feel it but this your problem

Antifreeze steam comeing through vents

Your heater core has a leak, it's like a small radiator that heats up and the blower motor blows air thru it to create heat in the car. It is leaking anti freeze into the heater box.

Smokey/mist coming through all heater vents and steaming up my windows inside no smell ,tried all the settings even switched the heater off still coming through unable to drive car,air con has not been...

Sounds like the heater core may have sprung a leak of coolant--although, there should be the sweet smell of antifreeze. If the heater hoses are original, they may be the cause of the leak due to rotted ends. In any case, the heater/air conditioner case will need to be opened, cleaned and repaired. You may need to replace all under-dash vent hoses to get rid of all the smell. Good luck!

I have smoke/steam coming out of my AC vents on my 2000 dodge durango weather the air is on or not. Only when it gets up to operating temp. There are no other mechanical problems. What could cause this?

a leaking heater core in the dash . does it smell sweet if it does it's antifreeze and steam that's sticky on the window is antifreeze mist coming from the fan blower / your heater core has sprung a leak im sorry to say.

Air conditioning works but not heat. blows out

At the radiator, drain and then flush with water then add 1 gallon of new antifreeze and top off with cool water. Now the cooling system will work.
If you have not performed routine maintenance on your cooling system - it will clog the heater in 10 years or less. Sometimes a bottle of radiator flush (purchased at any walmart or kmart) can clear the heater core - but you will have to run it with the heater on full heat setting for a few hours of driving.

When I turn on the air conditioner it is blowing hot air as if the heater were on. Could it be a fuse? It was working fine yesterday.

heater core is going bad my dodge ram truck did the same thing for about three months then steam startedcoming out of the vents it was antifreeze i have not fixed it yet i just bypassed it for now cause its hot and i have to take the dash completly out to get to it, and yes my airconditioner was blowing out hot now immediatly after i bypassed it blows cold again.you have to find where it goes into the motor on both sides so follow the hoses from firewall then buy a 3ft hose to go from one side of motor to the other problem fixed! well that is you wont have a heater until you change the heater core

Fogging up issues

If you can feel the air from the blower motor blowing up on the windshield it is probably one of two things. Either your heater core has a leak and the anti-freeze mist film is all over the windows or your heater control valve is not working.
Does the heater get hot or can you feel hot air on the windshield? If so your heater core is probably leaking and making steam inside your car.
