I found a guy on eBay that rebuilds them really resonable with power chip! You can buy the performance chips off eBay and install them yourself and they make a big difference in power at the cost of a few mpg. If you buy a used ECU, they have a number and letter on the units you must match!

Replaced 02 sensor in 2000 ford focus but still get the same codes

Why not try a used ECM? and get the key from the same vehicle if it is chipped. If yours and it are chipped, cut a non chipped key for your ignition.and once the used (known good working unit) ecm is installed ,use the nonchipped key in your ignition while holding the ecm key next to your ignition switch to start the vehicle.Once started run it and see if the same codes come up.If all is OK tape the chipped key under the plastic at the ignition lock and use non chipped keys now and pass the smog.

P0601 diagnostic code what is the mean , or whats is the problem

P0601 - Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error

Basically that means that there is an interal fault in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). There have been many reported PCM failures on Chrysler/Dodge products although it is possible for this to happen on any vehicle. In Dodge/Chrysler products, a P0601 trouble code means that a serial communication failed inside the computer at least 6 times.

Symptoms: Likely, no symptoms will be discernible to the driver, other than the illuminated Check Engine Light. Typically the engine runs fine, gauges work, etc.

Causes: A code P0601 in most cases means the PCM has gone bad. This is possibly due to a short-circuit inside the PCM. Or, if you disconnect the wires/connector from the PCM while the battery is still connected, that may also cause this code.

Possible Solutions: With a P0601 OBD-II trouble code, the most common fix is to replace and reprogram the PCM. In a few cases the dealer may be able to reflash the PCM and get it working. But more than likely the PCM will need to be replaced and reprogrammed (we recommend you take it to a dealership for this). The good news is it *may* be covered under your emmissions warranty. So even if you're out of bumper-to-bumper warranty or powertrain warranty, check your warranty guide or dealer to see if this is covered.

Other people have reported that they cleared the code only for it to return again and again. Keep in mind that most shops can replace the PCM but not all can program it.

Other PCM / ECM Codes: P0602, P0603, P0604, P0605, P0606, P0607, P0608, P0609, P0610.

Hope this help to solve it (remember rated this).

Have a 94 gmc rally van 1500 5.7 have no fuel injector pulse have power to one side of each injector replaced module in distributor could it possibly be computer

YOUR INJECTOR DRIVERS ARE IN THE ECM(COMPUTER). IVE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE AND IT WAS JUST THAT. GOOD THAT U HAVE POWER BUT THE ECM SENDS YOUR PULSE WIDTH GROUND TO THE INJECTORS. IF U WANT TO SAVE SOME MONEY U CAN GET A KNOWN GOOD ECM FROM SCRAP YARD FOR AROUND 30 BUCKS AND TRY. IF NOT POSSIBLY BROKEN WIRE FROM ECM BUT IF U HAVE BEEN DOING MAJORITY OF MAINTENANCE THEN ECM MAY BE CULPRIT

I replaced the distributor bcuz of the camshaft position censor, and the check engine light is still throwin the same code on odb2, even though i replaced what it supposivly needed. i cleared the codes but...

did you reset the ECM with a code tool? there's more to the ecm on VW's than just unhooking ground cables to reset it ! the rpm , dwell... timing and all has to be reset manually with a code tool which isnt cheap! last one i bought i think i paid close to $180 for it. hope this helps

First,  it's HIGHLY UNUSUAL for a brake job to cause this unless someone really screwed up.  I suspect that some connector is just unplugged due to negligence during the job.
It is incredibly difficult to imagine anyway a halfway competent mechanic could damage the computer doing a full brake job, even if rotors and calipers were replaced.  The only thing in the path of the job related to this are the pad sensors (only one on drivers side i my Jetta) and the wheel speed sensors (these should not be able to be damaged unless the axle is pulled out).
If the shop did this, you took it in and no panel lights were on, and you picked it up and lights and buzzers flashing,  make them fix it, and if they refuse and you paid with a credit card, then document well and dispute the charge  with card company.

Perhaps they somehow poured brake fluid on the ECM, which I believe is next to the brake fluid reservoir .. this is the only way I can see that they could have damaged the ECM.  Take a peak at it,  most brake fluid will destroy paint ... if the painted panels under the ECM or resevoir show bubbling or look like your car has posion oak ... this is probably what happened.  If this is the case, it it possible that removing the ecm and using electrical spray contact cleaner might make it work again ... but if the shop did it, have them get you a new ECM.  Used ECM is not recommended unless it's cheap and has a warranty.  Try blauparts.com, a great online vw/audi only parts source selling OEM parts at a significant discount.
Good Luck, ..ajm
