Did you check the fuses with a meter? They are most likely culprit. Also, does this model have more than one fuse block? I'd almost think a master fuse that feeds a separate fuse block for the interior functions might have been blown. Or perhaps a fusible link. If someone has a wiring diagram, be pretty easy to trace this one out I bet.

Hi Dj, The deck light (Interior courtesy light) receives power constantly and is grounded through switch. Look for a short circuit in the ground wires. Regards John

Disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes after removing the CD from deck and see if it reset the radio, if not see the dealer to unlock it.

My battery light came on so i was inspecting my wiring harness for signs of ware.i found that my crank sensor harness was soaked in oil, leaking from the front main seal. i fixed the leak and cleaned the...

Unplugging or disconnecting battery will rest the computer every time. Here's a simple solution that should work for you. If the battery is in good shape and holding charge, then disconnect the ground to the battery. Allow 15 minutes to pass, before reattaching the ground. Reattach ground, and attempt starting the car. If it starts, let it run a few seconds and then turn it off. Let sit for about 20-30 minutes, and it should come up and run efficiently. If the battery light came on, it is most common that the battery is weak and the charging system is failing.

If the light does not go out after getting restarted, then replace the alternator, and the problem should be resolved given a battery that is not more than 4 years old. Otherwise, replace battery first, then the alternator if necessary.

Hope this helps!

Major Short Curcuit?????

SUPER easy to fix. you shorted out one of the fuses. refer to the owners manual and replace whichever one belongs to that circuit. i know a main circuit box (for the TJ & YJ) is located behind the glove box. might be in the same spot on the cherokee.

gook luck, doesn't sound too back. one thing i have learned with wiring. CHECK the FUSES first. i have my whole dash and ignition column ripped apart when all the problem was, was a blown fuse and a corroded battery post...

Installed new CD deck in 07 Corolla, may have shorted something

first check the illumation fuse which to toyota its the panel fuse, check if it is blown. if not take the aftermarket wire harness u wired in with the radio harness and disconnect the orange wire (illumation wire) and see if u have lights again. sometimes the aftermarket orange wire won't work with toyota vehicles. good luck

Interior dash lights

you can go to radio shack or a place that sells stereo equipment and get an installation kit and I hope he did not cut the plugs off the old radio because it would be easy all you would have to do is plug in your installation kit to your old plugs and it will tell you which wire goes where most kits are around $15.00

read my other solution on the other one you posted. yes, the fuse is more-than-likely blown. but also you wired it completely wrong. look on my other solution on the other one you posted, it has the correct wiring diagram. there are 2 wires on the wiring diagram i posted that have the lights. one red is the int.light, and the other one is the turn signal wiring.
