You dont go to a parts store for charging system diagnosis. take it to a qualified repair shop . Those guys are lucky if they can get wiper blades on.

2004 Mercedes-Benz C230 kompressor warning gauge Battery / Alternator needs to be service.

check your volt gauge on the dash. if it's working properly, then your car is throwing a bad code. if the battery looks as though it's taking more than 14 volts, or less than 10, you have a problem.

I have a 2006 mazda tribute , i replaced the altinator a week ago because the dash lights and headlamps were blinking on and off. replaced the altinator and it was good for a week.... now it is happen

Check for voltage at the battery with the engine running. If you have around or more than 14 volts than the alternator is working. If the vehicle starts with a jump and continues to run without starting than the alternator is doing its job. You likely need a new battery. Most auto parts store will check it for free. If the battery is bad replacing it sooner rather than later will be the best choice.

1998 Deville info system is saying battery is not charging

Check for the terminals for the battery and the alternator first. The alternator may not also be delivering current properly. Check the belt drives. Other than that it may be a bad alternator.

I have replaced voltage reg ,sileniod ,starter, battery, then alternater went out replaced it with reman alt now wont charge and truck dies when positive side batt terminal is removed

Check all electrical connections from and to the altinator, if everything is good then its possable your remanufacterd altinator is deffective, the parts store can test them for you. You can never trust remaned parts theres always a chance that its a bad part.

Battery lite came just replaced the battery and chkd alternator (it was good). I jump the battery and trk stays running about 10 mins and dies. Could it still be the alternator?

i might be a bad altinator but i would double check your battery. a bad battery will kill a new altinator. does the battery light stay on? if the battery light on the dash is not on you may have another problem...

My 2002 jeep wrangler check gauges light came onand the battery gauge is below the left dot on the gauge. does that mean i have to replace the battery?

With the jeep running put a volt meter on the battery and it should be reading above 13 volts if not replace the altinator it isn't charging. You can check the fuse for the altinator first if not charging but most likely the altinator is bad.

Battery terminal is loose and car keeps cutting off (no power) is

Having the terminal loose woould cause your battery problems but have the battery check by an auto parts store(they do it for free) and if they say your battery is good, it would hurt to clean up and either fix the clamp on the battery cable, or replace it completely.

The alternator can be tested for free also. So, either way, you can find out FOR FREE if one of those parts are bad.

But, from what you are saying, the alternator sounds like it is bad.

Battery voltage/rough idle

you need to have the altinator checked while under a load. if its checked with no load on it then it will test ok. in other words you have a altinator that is going bad.

Discharge warning light came on -- hard to steer

hi how are you it sounds like the altinator or your battery has gone bad and needs to be checked to find out wich one is bad.you will have to use a battery/altinator tester to find the bad part.and for price it is hard to say it depends on the part that is bad. a battery will cost between 60.00-150.00.most autoparts stors will put in for free.the altinator can cost between 100.00-300.00.
